Is CRT really that bad for breakfast?

Hello everyone at the DIS,

I had planned a breakfast at Crystal Palace but now my 2 yo DD says she loves the princess, so now I want to know which is better, CRT or the one in Norway.

What do you recommend?

Everyone should do CRT at least once with their little girls. The food is not nearly as bad as some would have you think. It's bacon and eggs. Just don't go in expecting anything gormet or anything like that. It will be magic. Then you can make an educated guess for the NEXT trip.:)

EDIT: By the way, in my opinion Crystal Palace is one of the best breakfasts at Disney for many reasons. We eat there every trip. It is one of our absolute must do's. However, I still think CRT is a necessity at least once.

There is nothing wrong with the breakfast at CRT... in fact it's quite good. I think the problem that people have with it is that they are pay like $50 for eggs! Do you know how many eggs that is?!:lmao: CRT is not about the food... it's about the castle experience. If your dd is really into princesses and you can afford it than the experience at CRT is amazing.
We often go for lunch instead though because it's real food and it's only a bit more money. I somehow have myself convinced that $50 for breakfast is too much but that a $55 for a pot pie isn't  It makes sense in my sick head though!

We haven't eaten at Akershus yet ( will in Oct) but we LOVED CRT!!

I thought the breakfast was very good. They bring you fresh fruit and pastries then take your order and it's pre plated and you can get as much as you want.

There is just something so magical about eating in the castle and that was a HUGE deal to my dd (6). She still talks about it. We also did BBB beforehand.

We all enjoyed the food. The princess interaction was very rushed though but overall a good experience. In fact, It's the one place that my husband wanted to go back to!! But we are going to try Akershus this time.

I admit I'm the exception, but I go to the breakfast at CRT as an adult with no kids because I like the food, along with the atmosphere. It's one of the few places at WDW where I will break my special dietary regimen.

The place used to have the most absolutely divine French Toast. The recipe has been changed, but it's still pretty good. Along with a very tasty potato dish, the aforementioned sausage and bacon that are actually very good, and a very nice yogurt and granola plate that I typically order as "seconds" to my regular breakfast.

Others mention feeling "rushed", but I never have. If they're hinting at me to hurry along, I guess I'm just ignoring it. (For what that meal costs, I'm going to enjoy myself!) As a result, I almost always leave when the room is almost empty, as we're between seatings.

We did Akershus breakfast and CRT lunch back in September. Neither DH nor I really cared for the CRT lunch. However, this time when we go in May we are doing CRT for breakfast. DH didn't want to do 2 princess meals again so we are skipping Akershus. I'm actually kind of sad because I loved that breakfast! They bring hot food (eggs, meat, potatoes) to your tabel and then have a buffet with other breakfast items. It was awesome! I've actually been trying to get a reservation for Akershus for our Epcot day, but no luck yet. LOL
