As I have said before, we are considering a quick stay in December after our DCL cruise. We would only be there a night or two. Do you think it might be worth it to stay concierge? Do you think it is worth the extra expense?

We are looking at WL, had anyone stayed concierge there?

TIA! :goodvibes

You'll get alot of replies, pro and cons but this is just my 2 cents from our experiences. We've stayed conceirge level at the Poly, BC and WL. We prefered the Lodge servings better but that was a few years ago, basically because the service level has dropped off and prices have gone up. I don't feel we get the most valvue for our buck anymore.

WE get a standard room but have been up graded at the Lodge to courtyard view, we do a grocery stop in route to WDw and pick up our own fixings, snacks and drinks plus booze and take the savings of not staying conceirge and staying longer in a standard room. Conceirge rooms are no bigger than any other, snack servings are ok, but gone downhill and are out for a time period. Its alot of money say for lunch pickings of cookies and animal crackers.

My two cents worth. The only place I have found CL to be worth the money is at AKL because you can book the sunrise safari. Otherwise I dont know if we will do CL again. We just are not there enough to get our moneys worth. It seems we were only using the lounge for breakfast and IPO for special things such as birthday cakes otherwise I do everything myself.

I you have time to take advantage of the lounge offering I say go for it. Otherwise dont bother.

I like club level. I like the fact that you can email them all your ADR's and special requests sleigh rides ect. But only for a night or two I don't think you will get enough use to make it work the extra cost. But that's just my opinion.

Thanks so much! I didn't think it was worth it anymore. We had stayed CL in AKL once - for the safari tour which was great. Now AKL doesn't have a CL anymore b/c of the DVC construction. :( Years ago we stayed in the Poly CL which was really nice... but the pricing on standard rooms are so high now, trying to upgrade to CL is tough :(

The Club Level Lounge at the AKL is still on the 6th Floor. The CL rooms are now standard savannah view rooms on the 4th Floor.

We really enjoyed our club level stay at WL. The lounge w/ the nice supply of snacks was great!!

That being said, unless you plan to spend a lot of time at the resort, it doesn't appear to be worth the money. The rooms aren't any bigger or decorated more lavishly. (At least the rooms we were in). We didn't use the concierge service. We did stop by the lounge in the mornings we didn't have ADR's and that was wonderful, but the cost of club level isn't worth some morning pastries. Unless you are a pastry fanatic...in that case you'd be all set!!!;)

We are park people. We leave in the morning and don't return until later. We love the deluxe resorts and are willing to pay extra for those surroundings, but the extra on top of the extra didn't quite cut it for us!

did that help at all?

hope so!!!:thumbsup2

When you get it free it's well worth it.

We stayed CL at the Poly in 2006 with a MK view. We have two boys who eat non-stop and we also brought the babysitter with so that made five of us. I thought the CL was a great thing. We ate breakfast and dinner every day at the POLY. Our only expense was lunch a couple days in the parks. We thought the food was good and unlimited drinks all day was a great thing in August! The only reason we did it was because staying at the Poly gave us the convience of the monorail to go back and forth all day to the parks and resort. If it hadn't been so easy to get back and forth we wouldn't have done it.pirate:

Slightly OT -
We were upgraded once to concierge in WL, since it was free I can't speak to the "value" or the extra expense...but, my issue with the lounge was that I couldn't sit at the tables with our snacks. I got really a dizzy panic attack vertigo type thing looking over the railing. I never realized I had any sort of fear of heights until then.
Entirely based on that, we'd never pay for concierge level at WL :lmao:
