I have been tossing this back and forth in my head for a couple of weeks and can't decide. We are paying $226 AAA for a standard room and right now AAA is offering $303 a night for club. We will be there Dec. 22-26 at RPR. Is it really worth the extra $75 a night? When I first booked our trip I was so excited about going and just "knew" we would spend every waking moment at the park. We are leaving the day the crowds really hit according to the boards so I don't think we will be doing too much standing in line with FOTL and I gather we will have more down time than I initially thought. They offer food through out the day but is it stuff the kids will eat?(13,10,&7). Can they get full from it or are we better off just eating at the park or the Resort restaurants and saving the extra money for that? TIA for any help...

Here is another thread showing pics of offerings at RPR club

For me, I think it would be more than worth it...just the breakfast, soda and snacks alone. But, it depends on what your children like to eat. Also, for some people a big part of a vacation is going out to eat and trying new restaurants. If that is important to your family, the extra $75 for Club may not be worth it.

DH and I have booked Club at RPR in Nov for just $50 more than standard room...we are light eaters so this is a real bargain for us. We would spend way more than that at restaurants.

Whatever you decide to do....have a wonderful time!!!:santa:

We stay at RPR Club Level in 2006 and LOVED IT! It is definately worth the $75 per day for a family of 5. You get a really nice breakfast, every morning, and the snacks are good, and the happy hour is very relaxing! I would definately do it.

I also thought about getting 'Club' for my upcoming vacation in March 2009. They quoted me 80.00 more dollars per day. 2 adults/1 child.

We'd probably eat breakfast every day there, and perhaps 2-3 during the afternoon, then maybe 1-2 during the evening.

Out of 8 days ---- is this worth it?

What other amenities do you get for Club besides free snack food/drinks.

you have to ask yourself, how much does your family eat at breakfast time.

do you eat light, just a piece of fruit, yogurt type of meal?
or do you eat a muffin, fruit, and cereal........

either way, you could be spending about $7 for the above at city walk pp for a light bfast. x3= $21 for breakfast.

couple of bottles of water to take to the park in the morning, another $2.50 pp.=$7.50

evening, couple of beers, desserts, glass of wine, etc and maybe that would add up to $25 for the 3 of you.

you're talking the bare minumum of close to $53 a day then.

$53 x 8 = $424
vs
$80 x 8 = $640 additional for the total upgrade to club

consider what you would eat at club compared to what it could cost you at cw or at the parks or hotel. that should help you decide if it is worth the cost.

if you planned to eat the breakfast buffet at the hotel each morning, it would be $41.48 + tax daily x 8 days = $331.84

a breakfast there is very filling.
when i did breakfast at the kitchen, i swear, i had no appetite until about 4 that afternoon.......

your last question what else do you get:

food, beverages, beer/wine use of the computer if no kids are playing on it, newspaper, assistance from the staff on making ressies, etc.

but, the concierge in the hotel lobbies do the same thing, they can make ressies for you, call for a car, taxi, rental, sell you tickets, set up bmg, print out your boarding pass, etc.

I think for a family of five it is probably worth it if you make it so. Take advantage of the snacks, lunch, dinner, etc. If you are a family that likes to eat big meals in the restaurants then you might want to skip it. However, if you like to snack all day and eat small meals or just one big meal, it works!!!

For that time frame, I'd say YES. It's nice to have a place to chill out with a soda or wine, we did this at AKL for Dec 26 - Jan 2 one year, and the parks were quite crowded. It is worth it if you ask me. You can escape the crowds - plus you have 3 kids so I say yes.

i was wondering what you all were posting about when you said family of 5

i was answering sunshine's question with the couple and one child.

i need more coffee in the daytime.......before i post here..........sorry.

LOL that's allright. I'm still debating what to do. :confused3

My opinion is Club is SOOO worth it.... We stayed club in RPH, and for the 2nd part of our trip moved to Poly @ WDW, and boy the amount of snacks, every time we got snacks it was $40-$50 in Capt. Cooks! We did not eat our meals in the Club, but just the couple of Beers my husband and I had probably paid for itself. and the coffee in morning! Also the convience with a small child was priceless, we would stop there in the a.m. before going to the park, fill his sippy cup with ice and apple juice and he was set. I ran into a woman in the gift shop searching for apple juice, she said the only place she was able to get it was on citywalk, for $4 per small bottle! I would totally recommend Club, wish I would have done it at the Poly, probably would have saved me about $500 for the time we were there!!
