I called today to try to make a reservation for Citricos in September and was told there was nothing available because the restaurant was set to close on August 3rd. :worried: She said that it originally was scheduled for July 5th, but it was moved back to August. I asked why was it closing and she said it could either be for a remodel or a new restaurant. :faint:

What is confusing is I have read other threads that have people listing there reservations in September. :confused3

Has anyone else heard anything about Citricos closing? I've search numerous places and have not found anything about this.

Haven't heard a thing - call back and see what the next CM says. You might get a completely different answer =)

We have a reservation for October.:confused3

It is not typically open on Mondays and Tuesdays, but for the busy summer season, it has been open 7 days a week. This was set to end on 7/5, but was apparently pushed back a month. It is open after 8/3 (I have an ADR for 9/25) just not on Mon or Tues. You probably tried to book for one of those days.

That's most likely the answer. Another instance of a CM making up an answer to a question w/o really knowing anything about it.

::yes:: I was asking for a reservation on a Tuesday. That explains why there was something available when I asked about a Saturday first.

Thanks for clearing this up for me. I'll call back today and ask for a different day. :wizard:

I almost passed out reading this. I thought if they are closing Citrico's well then there is really no reason to do Disney dining anymore. It is one of the finest restaurants on property..

I hope Disney is reading this, they seriously need to either think about better training for those people who are answering their phones or make sure they have the correct information to give to people calling to make reservations for their trips. :confused3

I agree. Many of the dining CMs are the source for a lot of mis-information. We've got reservations at Citricos in October & December (and I talked with the restaurant manager for that one - it's at the Chef's Domain) I think she would have mentioned if the restaurant was closing.

I've also had a lot of trouble getting correct info for the Grand Gathering dining events. Ask 5 different CMs, get 5 different answers. Very frustrating!

That's a good sign for Citricos, I think. It seems like at least 5 years since it was open 7 days/week year round.

:rotfl:

Unfortunately, that's probably the case.
