Is Cirque du Soleil worth the high ticket price?

I really want to see the Cirque du Soleil show when we are there in Aug. but the high price tag is making me re-think it. It would cost us between $350-$400 to go. Seems like a lot of $ for one night/show.

I did look for discounts, but did not find any, unless you're a Florida resident, which I am not.

Just wondering if anyone has seen it recently and can comment.
Thanks!

We've seen several cirque shows from vegas to local stop through shows. We thought WDW's was by far the worst and we paid the most for it, but I think you'll find many who disagree.

have seen both Vegas & Downtown Disney Cirque...we enjoyed both shows very much. Saw Vegas show in June 2011, and saw Disney Cirque in February 2012.

The big difference was the price...the Vegas show we were able to get discounted seats (direct from Cirque Soleil...they had a 50% off sale going on their own website because it was Vegas off-season...June) Think we paid in the range of $50 a seat.

The Downtown Disney Cirque does not seem to do any price discounting, so it can cost more that VEgas. I think our Disney Cirque seats were more like $90 However, you do not have to buy the "best seats" to get a good view, either place.

Was the DTD Cirque worth it? Yes, I think so. WE did not buy front-and-center. We actually bought 2nd (or maybe 3rd?) price-tier seats. Our seats were way to the left - about as far to the left as you can go, but just a few rows up from the stage level. We had similar seat in VEgas so we knew that there would be only a very few things going on that would be harder to see, but the majority of the show was easily viewed from that area. The fact is, the Cirque shows have stuff going on all over the place (above you, to the left, to the right, directly in front, in the air, even in the audience sometimes) There's so much going on, you're going to be entertained no matter what.

I think the only place where you would really have a very obstructed view would be the very top rows if your were extreme left or right.

I'd love to see others, especially "LOVE" with all the Beatles music, but I have only seen La Nouba in Orlando so far. It was expensive, and I even bought some of the mid-range seats, but I felt like it was worth it. Now, I haven't gone back to see it again, but I think for something that a lot of people would say you should do at least once, it's a fair enough price.

The show is available on DVD (although it doesn't do justice), and at least one other Cirque du Soleil show is now available on blu-ray, so maybe you should check those out to get a better idea.

It's definitely worth it :goodvibes I've seen it like 4 or 5 times and is going on my next trip as well. As mentioned, there's things happening all over the stage and among the audience, so I feel that the most expensive tickets are the worst actually, as they're right in front of the stage and it would be difficult to see everything.

I would strongly recommend for you to go, but buy the cheapest seats (category 3). If you buy them early you won't be too far at the side either. But the way the theater is built, there's really no bad seats.

We went last year as our anniversary gift to each other. We had 3rd tier seats - allllll the way at the top to the right of the stage. We could see EVERYTHING - what was going on below and above the stage.

I think it was worth doing once. I found it to be very dark and sometimes creepy. The little kids behind us were crying at various points during the show (when they weren't kicking me in the back of the head) Not sure I would do it over again, but as I said, I do think it is worth seeing once.

I really like La Nouba, it's the only "built in" Cirque show I've seen and I like the different acts that offers. I think it's great fun and worth the price of admission.

I've seen it twice and I enjoyed it most the first time. It was my first cirque show! Since then I've seen Varekai, Corteo, and Kooza when they came through Miami. I would say my absolute favorite was Corteo, but La Nouba would come second.

It was definately worth it. However, it was worth it to see it with my husband before we had kids. It's not worth it to spend that sort of money with my young kids yet.

We saw it last September & it was completely worth the cost. Awesome!

Am I the only one who is completely creeped out by Cirque du Soleil? Years ago I was given free tickets and passed-- I had no idea they were that pricey! I don't think I'd go to it even if they were paying ME. I am breaking into a cold sweat just thinking about it.

No. It sucked. Go see Blue Man Group at Uni. So much better!

I KNOW a lot of people like La Nouba and think there is something wrong with me for being bored. I don't go into threads about how wonderful and artistic and amazing it is and say that it sucked. The OP asked for opinions. That is mine.

If you go online and join Club Cirque you can sometimes get very good discounts. We paid less than 60 per ticket last October for Cat 2 seats. I would not get front and center for sure. You have to crane your neck and look up at everything. I would get category 3 seats if I ever went back because I think the higher seats have the best views of the whole arena. I would not pay full price for it but I would go see it again. We loved it. You can see bits and pieces of it on You Tube.

We've seen it twice and enjoyed it both times. My then 7 year old loved it. We did what a pp said - joined the cirque club. We got cat 2 seats for $49. We liked the upper seats better - you can see more. There were a few things I found creepy but not enough that I wouldn't see it again.

I have only seen Kooza but we will be seeing La Nouba this summer for our anniversary. I hope it's worth the price. :-) We loved Kooza. And, for what it's worth we also loved Blue Man Group (although we saw them in Vegas.)

We've never been because with the price of a Disney vacation, we can't bear to drip another $300-400 on a single show. There are so many other things to do at WDW which are included in the initial ticket price, we can't justify the time and cost. That's just us. I know a lot of folks love the show.

Yes !! We love it ! We have always enjoyed it--- Over the last year, they have made some changes, as far as the acts, and its even better !

I'll let you know next month. DD and I are so excited to see the show :goodvibes

I think it's definitely worth it if you want to see it, but if you have a choice in seeing it at WDW, or in Vegas, I'd go for Vegas :thumbsup2
