Is CHOC Walk an all-day event?

We are arriving at DL for a quick 2 1/2 day visit beginning on October 30. I've read that DL will be very crowded due to CHOC Walk. Our plan was to arrive sometime in the afternoon of the 30th, and possibly go to a park. DL closes at midnight, and DCA at 10:00 PM. Will both parks be mobbed all day and night...until closing? We don't have the ability to change our dates.
We are from the east coast, so don't know anything about this event. Any info is much appreciated.

It's a pre-park opening event, but they will delay park opening or move or swap EMH to accommodate it. It is extremely crowded afterwards. They sell discount tickets which many people will use that day. I can't recall it being this late in the month before, but with Halloween parties on 10/29 and 10/31 I imagine a lot of people will be in DL for fireworks that night and for many it might be the only DL night on their trip.

Thanks for the info. Will DCA be as crowded as DL? I suppose we could hang around the resort that night if need be, but would rather have some park time if it's at all doable.

The walk ends in DTD, but by 10-11am that should be clear of the actual walk related things. If you want to see fireworks, then it's you're only chance unless you have party tickets the next night. In general, when the parks are crowded DCA can be more manageable because the walkways are wider.
