Is Chip & Pin established in the USA?

Hello.

I'm going to WDW in December, and will be taking my credit card, just in case!

My credit card operates under the Chip & Pin system? Is this system also in place in America?

It would be helpful to know because if I do use my card, I always have to make a conscious effort to remember the pin number (I always do this just before I approach the till!).

Chip and pin was not in Orlando in May. You will need a photo ID when using the credit card. Your photo driving licence will do.

I don't possess a driving license, but I do have a photo ID, which will hopefully be sufficient.

Though not the USA, I have just got back from Canada and none of the places I visited did chip and pin.....and I'd just managed to remember my pin no/ as well

I used chip and pin last October in a mall in Connecticut but that's the only time I've seen it so far in the USA. Luckily I remembered my number!

I have used my credit card many times in NYC and in FL and have never been asked to show ID. I know they have the right to ask but it's never happened to me. Just as well, as I only have my passport and I don't like carrying it around all the time.

Nope no chip and pin which is good as I much prefer signing my name, as DH says we only have one signature but so many pin numbers!!!!

I used my credit card loads last August in Orlando. Not only was I never asked for ID, sometimes I was handed my card back before the slip was even printed ready for me to sign.

Same experience as Jan, I've never been asked for ID and usually get my card back before signing!
