Is Chef Mickey's still a character dinner? And, is the food still good? We dined there about 5 years ago and enjoyed it. Although we may not visit MK this trip, some Disney magic would be fun. We have plans to be there first week of February - how do be get PS? Phone? Fax? Email?

Had dinner there on my last trip and the food was awful!!! Worst meal I've ever had at WDW.

It is still a character meal -- breakfast or dinner. I haven't eaten there yet, but plan to do breakfast when we go in February, so I don't know firsthand if it's good or not.

To make a PS you need to call 407-WDW-DINE, it's available 90 days in advance, so you should probably be able to call very soon, if not now.

You can see the dinner menu here:

We ate there Oct 23 and it was character dinner. Food was not the best, but it was fine. We go for the characters. There was chip, dale, goofy, mickey and donald. Hope this helps..

We ate at Chef Mickey's 10/25 for dinner. It was our second time there and we had a great time on both occasions. We hit the character jackpot this year because not only were Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip and Dale there, but we had 2 special guests: Princess Aurora and The Genie from Alladin. We were psyched! I think for a buffet the food is good. The parmesean mashed potatoes are awesome. You can make PS 90 days in advance and I think it's wise to book as early as possible if you want a specific day/time as it's very popular. Have fun! :D

We have eaten at CM ( dinner) every year for the past 5 years and the food has always been good. It is not gourmet, but always tasty.
Great place to meet the charachters. The timeline for PS's is now 60 days for most places, including CM. We will be back 12/28 for dinner.
Enjoy:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We've been for the last three years and I think the food is pretty good, but not great. I'd agree with WiscMomof2 that the mashed potatoes are teriffic! For me, the attaction is to see my son, daughter, niece and nephew (ages from 2 to 6) interact with the characters, not so much to get a great meal.

 I'm pretty sure it's 90 days

We had dinner there on my DS birthday last year and the food was great. The characters paid special attention to him every time they came around. I would recommend going there to anyone.

We had dinner there this October. I highly reccommend it. The buffet was very good. As previously mentioned, try the mashed potatoes. Character interaction was excellent. This will be our traditional 1st dinner from now on.

We went earlier this year and thought it was okay. The food was good, the character interaction was okay- lots of characters but very quick interaction. Our main problem was that we were very tired- we chose this as our first night meal and we were very tired from travelling cross country with our 2 and 5 year old. I would go again, but when well rested! ;)

We traditionally eat at Chef Mickey's every visit and the food has always been fine.

We ate there 10/26 for dinner for the first time. We really enjoyed the food. Lots of variety. I agree the potatos are tops!! Also, the pasta dish that night-chicken and artichokes in a cream sauce over penne pasta was very good. Was fun to see the characters and enjoyed when they sang and everyone "waives" napkins overhead. I'd go again!!! Enjoy..

Have eaten there for breakfast and dinner. Characters and atmosphere are great. Breakfast food was good but dinner was horrible. Tried it a couple of times but will never eat dinner there again. AWFUL. I would have to say it was my worst meal ever at WDW.

Our dinner was GROSS.

We will try breakfast next time, because we love the characters.

we ahd dinner here in Sept and it was very good. Lots of selection, everything was hot and tasty. I would love to hear exactly what food it was that the negative posters didn't like. THis is a must do for us next trip!

HTH

Did those with a bad experience at Chef Mickey all go in October? I have a friend that just got back (was there the last week of Oct.) and she too said the food was horrible. All the other reviews I've read say avg. to good for the food. I'm planning on going in Jan. but hate to waste my money on bad food.
Anyone else think the food was bad?

Everything on the buffet. I think we ended up eating just salad. The food was cold bland and very over cooked. I was afraid to even touch the desserts because they looked like a group of toddlers sat there trying to make mud pies out of all of them.

The much raved about potatoes were gross. I remember reading here on the DIS one time someone fro mthe UK stating that they figure no American has had decent potatoes since "we" all rave about the wall paper paste served at CM's. I have to agree. They were horrible.
