Twice this week I took the Monorail through the contemporary in the afternoon and saw people eating at CM. Both times it was well past the latest time you would expect someone to be lingering over breakfast ... PLus I saw the characters out. The first time was Thursday and it was about 1:15 or 1:30 when I went through the Contemporary. The second time was yesterday and I went though the building at around 2 pm. Both times way too late for breakfast stragglers and it wasnt only one or 2 people the place was full.

Yes, it opened for lunch on the 26th - I was at the contemporary and saw the menu.

It's open for lunch during the free dining. I'm sure of that as I've booked it myself. ;)

Dizneydiva, for all of us that are curious, can you remember anything you've seen on the lunchmenu?

OK coolness too bad I didnt know this before I would have booked it this week my kids love it there.

I remember seeing sandwhich wraps- and that's all. Sorry.

Don't be sorry! Any input is appreciated and reading about wraps is making me go yummie. :)

Well the Disney website and last years Disney Guide lists breakfast and dinner. Both also have characters I believe only Minnie is missing from the dinner show.
There is nothing stating the dinner is a limited time only
:sulley:

We have a 10:30 ADR for breakfast, are we gonna be able to eat breakfast food? Or will it switch over at 11 to lunch??

I have 2 questions. If Chef Mickeys is open during free dining, what's on the menu? And how long does this free dining period will last? I'm going in November so I would like to know if I have a chance to have lunch there.

Free dining is through sometime in October so I think it will be closed byt he time you are going.

A 10:30 ADR is breakfast as far as I know. I think they are like the themepark resturants that serve 2 or 3 meals with characters and take a short break between each different meal... enough time to clear out one meal and start the next.

oh, well, that's really too bad. I would have love to have lunch there. Maybe I'll try it for dinner then.

The switchover happens at noon. I was there last week with a breakfast ADR of 11:20.

Between pictures and waiting to be seating, we were there when lunch was being put out.

Before I left I had asked on this board if you get "kicked out" between meals, and quite a few mentioned that at CP you can actually eat a bit from the breakfast offerings and a bit from lunch. I thought that would be great, but it's not how it works at CM!!!

The ice cream sundae area was being set up for lunch, and some of the children in my party happily started filling their bowls. When a few more of the children tried to partake, a very rude CM informed them that this was for lunch guests only! I tried to explain that some of their siblings and cousins had already taken some, and couldn't they spare a few M&Ms, but no go!!! She stood between the kids and the candy and repeated "Lunch only!!"

I was pretty steamed, but tried not to let it ruin the otherwise wonderful meal we had.

Warning to late breakfast diners: Get your desserts fast!!!! :rotfl2:

We ate lunch here on wednesday. We were not overly impressed at all.

The food was:
Pork Ribs
Lime chicken
potatos
vegetables
salmon
Mickey ravioli
roast beef
buns
salad (make your own)

kids:chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, cheese pizza

dessert: brownies, cookies, cheesecake squares, make it yourself icecream sundaes (which was the only great thing here)

We got there at 12:15 for a 12:30 ADR. We had to wait quite a while. Then were late getting the buffet set up, so more waiting. The server brought us our coke, and we didn't see her again until the end of our meal, when she did bring us more drinks, with our bill, when we were ready to leave.
They make you take the pictures, which are $30, which we never bought.
The characters were Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. They came around once, for pictures.
There was napkin twirling once.

It was not great. It was probably our worst meal of the week. Good thing they had brownies and good ice cream toppings!!

That's because dinner is not for a limited time... lunch is. ;)

Breakfast and dinner are always offered, the latest breakfast seating is 11:20 normally. From late August through September 22 they are offering lunch in addition to breakfast and dinner. :)

Thanks for the heads up!!!!!!

We ate lunch here on Friday and it was great, the characters came around many times and the food was pretty good. :)
The characters were Pluto, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy

Our lunch consisted of

Mickey Ravioli
Salmon
Roasted Potatos
BBQ Ribs
BBQ Chicken
Lots of Salads and Salad Toppings
Hard Boiled Eggs
Strawberry Trifle
2 Soups
Variety of Rolls
Roasted Beef
Pasta with Spinach and Garlic

Mickey Mac and Cheese
Corn
Chicken Nuggets

Brownies
Chocolate Cake
Carrot Cake
Sundae Bar with Candy and Sauces
Rice Crispy Treats

I was there for lunch on 8/26, the first day. I would not recommend it. I've been there for dinner in the past and enjoyed it but the lunch was just lacking, possibly because I was there for day one??

I had a 1:10 ADR, arrived about15 minuted early and was seated immediately. I thought food was bland and not very original.

The characters were slow coming around and after 1-1/2 hours we gave up on seeing Goofy and left.
