Is changing the order we see parks worth it means canceling reservations?

I've read suggestions to make MK the last park on the trip, saving the best for last with the kids. Anyway, in mid June we are spending 5 days at the parks, over a Star Wars weekend. Before our dates were set in stone, I make reservations for Be Our Guest, Bippity Boppity Boo, and breakfast at Cinderella's, all which now need up being the first two days of the trip. So I'm looking for opinions about wether or not to cancel those reservations (which I'm doubtful I can reschedule) and change the order in which we see the parks. Any ideas? If it matters, our kids are 3 and 2. My original plan was: MK, MK, HS, Ep, MK.

There is absolutely zero chance that your children, ages 3 and 2, will have an opinion on the order in which they visited the parks. So unless the adults have strong feelings about it, keep your reservations.

I wouldn't. I would keep the reservations and plans you have. You'll find just as many people who start off with MK as ones who like to leave it for last. I wouldn't change a thing. It's unlikely you'd be able to reschedule those hard to get ressies.

ETA: I also agree with PP that your children are too young to care about it.

I see nothing wrong with the way you have it planned. Every family is different and if yours will like MK the most, that's where you should spend the most time.

Having said that, you could probably even skip BBB this year -- whether it's the 2 or 3 y.o. IMO it's pretty expensive and a child that young won't care that much about it. Unless they're already doing dress up at home with full make up and hair, it just might be too old for them.

We start AND end with MK. :lovestruc

Really, do whatever is right for your family. If your reservations are things that are must do's for you, then absolutely do NOT cancel them. I would agree with a PP though, BBB might be a waste. Also, (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the 2 year old will not be able to do it. I've heard they are pretty strict about the 3 and up policy.

Edit: if you already have BOG reservations and this is something you want to do, don't cancel under any circumstances! I've been trying for weeks to get in, and cannot. This is a really hard ADR to get!!! (Well, unless you are going the last week of July, then I would be more than happy to take it off your hands ;) JK ha!)

I agree, we start AND end at MK. That's the quintessential Disney experience for me, and I just have to hit Main Street USA first, and then be able to slowly wander out at night to say goodbye.

On our last Disney trip, we ended up hitting California Adventure first(we trade off between WDW and DLR). It just felt so weird! We still had a great time, but I really missed the magic of walking in to Main Street and hearing the music, seeing the castle, etc.

I do agree that your kids are too small to really notice, so I'm sure they will have a great time no matter what you do!

If you wait until the end of your visit - the kids (and you) will be more tired. We always do MK first as it is a great way to start. MK is so important to the whole experience, that I have always felt it was best to take it on while fresh (especially with children and seniors).

You can always try booking new ADRs before cancelling the old ones. That way you know you have them before cancelling your existing ones. I just moved 3 character ADRs around to avoid the high pre Easter crowd days I had originally booked them on and we're only 4 weeks away.

I've thought about my daughter not being old enough to appreciate BBB, although she will be nearly four and we're bringing the dress.

And honestly, I had dinner at BOG this Feb and think that, aside from the wait, lunch would be just as nice and cheaper. I think there's at least a 50/50 chance that she'll be scared of the beast. Of course she might love it. She cries when the beast turns back to the prince because she loves the beast so much. Lol.

A very good point, too!

Lol. I tried and tried for reservations in Feb and after hundreds of tries, actually got one. So don't lose hope! I think lunch would be just as nice through, minus the wait and if seeing the beast wasn't a priority. Dinner is really load and busy, not what I excepted. Which isn't to say it wasn't great, but I wonder if the noise and activity at lunch and dinner are about the same or not.
