Hello there I would like to know if it worth the hassle of changing rooms? We always go to Disney for 2 weeks every year and I just got my husband to change hotels. We always stay at OKW but last year we stayed at ASSports. I would like to stay at all the resorts and experience them all but he is not into change very well!!! I thought maybe we could change rooms after a week but don't know if it's worth it? Thanks for all the help

I don't think it's unreasonable to change resorts if you will be at them for a week each. I would probably do it if I were going to be there for two weeks. Now if the trip were 8 days or less, I would probably stay put. JMO

I would like to say thank you for your advice and ask you if you've ever changed resorts yourself? Also how did you put your counter on your post?

Last summer we stayed 4 nights at the Polynesian, then spent one night at the Grand Floridian. It was no big deal at all to change. You just check out of one drive to the other and check in! The reason we switched on only a 5 night trip was because we did not have our son with us (so a lot less luggage!) and I was wanting to try the GF. Now on future trips our 2 year old will be with us and I don't think it's worth it to change unless we'll be at both resorts for several nights. Just because with him, there's a lot more packing and unpacking to do!

As for the countdown clock, go the the Technical Support board and go to the thread entitled "Get Your Countdowns Here!". It will tell you how to set it up!

:D

We're going for 7 nights/8 days and we'll be changing resorts. We just can't decide on the first one! Staying at the Polynesian for the last 3 nights. Either All Stars or CBR for the first 4. Decisions, decisions.:) :)

Just check my signature. We love to resort hop, but we also live out of our suitcases (I don't think I've even looked into any drawers at Disney - I'll have to do that next time). We love the feeling. It really breaks the vaction up well, and each resort has so much to offer, even if you are only there one day. I know that we are in the minority when it comes to changing as much as we do, but we really love it.

I voted "Yes" to your particular case, but my answer would be "No" in general. 1 week in each hotel (or even 5, 5 and 4) would be fine. Anything less than 4 days in a specific hotel is really too much of a hassle, though.

I have changed resorts and rooms. Let me explain.

On our honey moon we went from a cruise to the GF to CBR (long story, I wanted more time at WDW but not for the $$$). On another trip, I checked into CSR and it was so full and crowded with conventions (we had trouble getting a table for lunch at 11:30am and as we left there was a line to get into the food court) we called other hotels and switched to POFQ. I am up for anything.

Also, I have complained about my room. If my room is looking at a parking lot, and I know that the price I paid is for a garden view, I insisit on the garden view. I know some people may not like this, but I save for this vacation all year and I do not want to look at a parking lot when I know that rooms in my range can be garden views. This happens at the moderates. They used to have room views that were standard, garden and water and have seemed to combined the first two.

I voted "yes" in your circumstances. . If I ever have the luxury of staying for two weeks, I would spend one week in a Magic Kingdom resort and the second week in a resort right next to Epcot and MGM. Thank would be heavenly!

milmore- If you are a DVC member I would definitely consider changing resorts, especially for the Fri/Sat. night. The money you will pay for an AS will save you a lot of points. Points that you can bank, or come back for another trip. I would INSIST on making my DH change rooms if I could save about 100 points or so, and he really hates change.

Good Luck!

I just want to say Thanks so much to everyone for all the good help You've all given me. I hope I can get my DH to go for changing rooms! I know it will get us that much closer to acheving our goal as of staying at all the resorts!

To tinkrbell, Idealy I wouls just use my points but last x-mas we treated our families to a Disney vacation. We got them a 2br and a studio for 7 days during x-mas week and that well ate up all of our points for this year and next and then some. I know what your saying and it was great advice. We'll have to try it next year.

Thank you

I think that it would be if you are going to be there 6 or more days and just couldn't make up your mind, and the only way you can stay that long is to combine a more expensive resort with a less expensive resort. Otherwise, I think it is too much hassle.
