Is Captain EO still playing at Epcot?

We watch it almost everytime we go to EPCOT. Michael sings a little bit of "The way you make me feel" towards the end (which makes everything else about the film seem more tolerable, even Kooter."

- Was it You make me feel or Another Part of Me after the end?

I watch it last time and plan to watch it at least once or twice a day (whenever I'm at epcot in my upcoming august trip). I'm a huge MJ fan. Do I feel like i'm in the movie as opposed to the other rides-------NO and I'm fighting to stay in my seat to not get up and dance ---------YES!!!!!!

I'm using it as a punishment for my kids if they act up when we go next month.

We are here to chaaannnggeee theee wooorrrllldddd :rotfl2: I love Captain EO. It's so bad, but yet entertaining

It's actually an early version of Another Part of Me: it sounds slightly different from the version on Bad.

I am slowly raising my hand to agree with other posters...I like Captain EO.:duck: Saw it on Youtube for the first time (no trips since it was put in), and I enjoyed it.

I happen to love Captain Eo...guess I'm in the minority. I do think it has run its "tribute" course and that its time for the entire Imagination pavilion to get a large refurb/makeover.

Count us in as another family who loves it. My daughter probably liked it the way it was meant to be liked - as a cool 3D adventure. My son enjoyed it ironically - so ironically he actually bought a rainbow tee, so he could be extra ironic. And my husband and I just loved it for the nostalgia.

And it actually kind of rehabilitated Michael for me. It brought me back to a time when I used to really like him and his music.

Oh, and on the day my son wore his rainbow tee, a castmember actually ran out of a parade to give him a high five, shouting, "Michael!" :thumbsup2

I am so desperate for this to be good! I love M J but have never seen Captain EO. I want to love it!

It's not good. It's hilariously terrible. But that doesn't mean you can't love it anyway!

My husband and I are both in our early 30's (no kids) and we LOVE Captain EO - I grew up when MJ was bar-none absolutely the biggest, most fascinating pop star on the planet. For that reason (nostalgia) and because it is fun to see old favorites brought back (although my husband never saw it as a kid), it really is great. My guess (and this is only a guess) is that people who were kids in the 70's and 80's would really get a kick out of it, but perhaps it is not so great for those older or younger. Finally, the singing and dancing skill of MJ is a once-in-a-lifetime talent and to see him when he was still at his peak brings back great memories and in my opinion is a great show.

By the way, we were there in early March and it was still running.

I hope it is still there in October!

I realize that it is outdated, and that even as a tribute it's time and relevancy is limited.

Still I remember loving it so hard when I was 13. It was a troubled time for my family and my drug addicted, shop lifting, trouble making older sister (15) was doing her best to ruin the trip for EVERYONE.

One time after an "incident" in EPCOT, I was sent off to watch EO while my parents "dealt with her".

I saw it twice in a row.
I had gone in crying, I came out literally dancing.
I was already a MJ fan but this was exactly the outlandish escape from reality that I needed!

By the time I cam back years later it was gone.

I just want to see it one more time as an adult.

I can't wait to drag my kids on it. They've already been warned that we are going on Captain EO NO MATTER WHAT and they aren't getting out of it.

I saw it in 1987 & 1988 and LOVED IT. I was so excited when they brought it back and took DH to it when we were there in 2011. DH was mortified to put it mildly LOL. I'll admit it was a bit cheesier than what I remembered but it's still a must do. I am surprised they still have it going.

I just love the butterfly/monkey thing - even bought a stuffed one in 1987.

Agreed. My first trip was in 2010 (DH loved it as a kid and was excited they were bringing it back). We have watched it a few times over the past 3 trips. I enjoy it but do agree that the "tribute" should be over and it is time for something new :)

Well, it needs to run for 100 more days at least so that i can see it one last time. I have not seen it since I was 13.

DH and I were so excited to see it on our last trip. We both saw it as little kids and LOVED it. It has not stood the test of time, unfortunately. We had fun watching it since it was sooo cheesy, but we felt like we'd wasted a lot of time since we'd just missed the previous show. DS3 didn't really care about it at all, but he might've enjoyed it more if he'd actually wear 3D glasses. The song is still catchy, though, and the making-of video in the waiting area was pretty interesting. And gotta love those mullets and Spandex costumes!
