Is Captain Cook's a sit down restaurant?

We would like to head there one day before we head over to the Magic Kingdom. Do you need ADR's or is it counter service? TIA!!!!!

Captain Cook's is a counter service restaurant at the Polynesian, so ADR's are not necessary. Even though it is a small restaurant with a limited selection, the Tonga Toast makes it worthwhile!

are there sandwiches for takeout?

I remember there were a couple of different sandwhiches but I don't remember what they were.

You are able to take anything back to your room or pool if you want. You can either ask for a to-go box or just take the tray and basket.

There are a few tables and booths inside and lots of seating outside. We went there for snacks and then to the Poly beach to watch WISHES and the water parade. S
