Is Cape May Cafe worth it?

I know that they removed the crab legs, but is it still worth it? Right now it's $42 per person I will be picking up the tab for about 7 adults. I was watching videos and the food portions look small. How difficult would it be to get refills? Someone posted somewhere that it was hard to get the waitstaff to come back. (I'm particularly interested in the peel and eat shrimp)

Also, is the Lobster Mac and Cheese included? I'm confused on that issue.

Thanks!

Worth it will be subjective; you can easily get more of any item you would like. We had good service there, but I have seen posts saying service was not attentive. Mac and cheese is included. To me, Cape May won't be as worthwhile until the buffet is back, so there is more variety, but it was not a bad meal. It just wasn't as good as its former iteration.

Not worth it. DS14 and I ate there in mid-June - the portions were SO small and it was nearly impossible to flag a server down to bring us more food. When we did, they, again, brought us incredibly, small portions (4 small, thin slices of meat for 2 people). It was ridiculous. We weren't full, but we simply gave up after sitting there for an hour or so. I think your money would be better spent at a casual, a la carte TS or, perhaps, even Whispering Canyon where everyone could order a skillet (which is AYCTE) and you get a lot more food for less money. We won't return to Cape May in its current form.

I agree. In this day and age worth it is more subjective than ever. You need to consider the meal for both the food you get and how the price compares to other places. If the mac and cheese is good then I say it is worth it. :)

I've never been there, so there's that, but we're staying at Yacht Club, so I did a little research. Gave it a no. I don't like pre-fixe in general, but the options didn't look great (to me). Looked like a restaurant waiting for its transition plan to "anything else." Plus, the atmosphere looked very dated and ho hum. My two cents.

Agree with it very subjective.
My answer is no, its not worth it. YMMV.

We ate there in September. It used to be a favorite place, but not any more.:guilty:

I would argue that $42 + tax and gratuity for "good" mac and cheese is not worth it.

With Epcot right next door.... really no reason to settle on what Cape May has become.

I completely agree!!

Was always a fave. Some of the BEST servers on property.
Really really R E A L L Y hope buffet returns.

Til then... BOMA!!!

We didn't like it when it was a buffet with AYCE crab legs. Haven't been to the current iteration and almost certainly won't.

It's no longer a matter or worth it value with paying more and getting less. It's a matter are you willing to pay the price. Their pushing their brand and exploiting the pandemic as a reason. In the short term, their going to get away with it, but long term their brand will suffer.

It was the only bad meal we had on our trip in June. Slow service , cold food, refills non existent. It’s nothing like it used to be . It used to be one of our favorite meals . The breakfast was great though ! Just skip the dinner because sadly it’s really not worth it anymore.

We didn’t like it during our July visit. This used to be one of the big family meals every trip, but probably won’t go back until changes happen. Service was fine, the food really wasn’t.

Same here. My wife and myself at there once and was not impressed. Then a year or two later my in-laws insisted that we eat there (they like buffets). I still was not impressed. Haven't been back since.

Note: I have nothing against buffet's and eat at them every so often.

Okay I love mac and cheese but yes I would agree not for $42. :) Especially when I can get the one at Chefs de France for less, at least before it disappeared from the menu. :(
