I'm looking at the passholder dining discounts for the 45th anniversary & one place I haven't tried yet and is offering 20% off is Cape May Cafe.

I love seafood but am picky about the quality/freshness & not sure about the buffet seafood thing for that reason..

Any opinions and/or reviews for dinner here?

How do you define "worth". It means something different to everyone.
If you are picky about seafood you may be disappointed. I am from NE & when eating here I stick mainly to the non seafood choices.

I haven't been in a few years, but it seems like recent reports are saying the quality has declined, especially in crab leg category, which is the most important of all!

We have had some good meals at Cape May. The food is good, but not great. We will go again but it isn't a must do for us, it does have a decent amount of choices though

I just meant is it worth going to at all. With so many options nearby at Epcot, I'm not so sure it would be a good choice to eat at this one for the price, even with 20% if it's just decent quality seafood & nothing special It caught my eye since it's one of the places offering passholders a discount & I've never been.

Thanks all for the replies!

It is a buffet. It is good food for a buffet, and the Beach Club is lovely to visit. It is not seafood cooked to order, so bear that in mind,

Only you can decide if it's worth it to you. I liked it, but I am from CT and like my seafood cooked to order, so fly me, once was enough. I was glad we went. I do nto feel compelled to return. You need to decide how you feel about dinner, value, and what your expectations are.

Nah. We have been there about 4-5 times. Twice was good and the other times was bleh. The seafood is tiny (crab legs and whatnot). They only offer one fried item per night and rotate. We always seem to get calamari(sans dips/sauces) or clams (yuck) but never shrimp, which we'd prefer. There is a bunch of salads too and I think some carved meat. Desserts are good but tiny bite sized. Just not worth the cost IMO. We go for convenience as we stay at BWV or BCV a lot and we also go because the kids liked the crab legs (even though they are super small and take forever to get a decent amount of meat).

Maybe try Captain's Grille. I am trying to book that this next trip but it has no availability my week. Haven't been but they have the 20% AP discount.

FLying Fish honors the discount as well, I believe. And it is excellent

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been to FF once a couple years ago before the refurb & Loved it! I'd love to try it now but I'm usually not staying at a BW resort & would be coming from the parks so not so sure about the whole dress code situation w/the white tablecloth, more upscale environment now. I guess I would have to get creative & bring something with me in my bag that won't wrinkle so I could change because I usually wear cargo shorts & a t-shirt w/sneakers to the parks.

If you were anywhere else, I would say that it would be an issue, but in WDW it will not be. I was there on Saturday night, and the dress was pretty much between park attire and more dressed. No one was "dressy".

You could pack a clean shirt and I think it woudl be fine. I will tell you that I think it is worth any effort. Our service was stellar!! The food excellent, and honestly I cannot remember having so much fun in a long time. We sat where the old chefs table was located, and those hard woking chefs were a show to behold.

Make time to go next door to AbracadaBar. That was great as well

Is it worth it is so subjective and open for debate. As for me, No, it's not worth it. It is your typical buffet quality food in the likes of Golden Corral (there I said it) that happens to offer some rather anorexic looking crab legs that are not all that great either. But then this personal opinion is based on my visit there about 4 years ago and the fact that I don't believe there is such a thing as an excellent buffet, especially in WDW (Boma though is average and would call it decent). I'm just not willing to give Cape May another try.

For my answer, I have to say yes and no and maybe.

Yes: if you are on the dining plan. It is a great value for your credits and can easily help push you past the daily amount you spent on the DDP. The food has been tasty and fresh the times that I've visited and I've been happy with the cleanliness and the choices on the buffet. The only complaint I have is that the crab legs bend back and forth and were hard to crack and get the meat out on both occasions that I've been.

No: if you are paying full price. The adult price runs from &48-$52. Holy Cow! It was good but not fantastically amazing enough to warrant $48. $30? Sure. $35 at the holidays? Yep, I could see that. Once you hit $40, I'm out.

Maybe: Using the passholder discount may bring the price down enough to make it palatable again.

I thought this place was ok for the seafood. It was nothing to rush back to but I was not disappointed either. I went in with the thought that it will not be as good as the options I have here and I am at a buffet. I am actually thinking of going back there on out next trip in October since it has been awhile since we were last there.
