Is Cape May Cafe price worth it?

Noticed today that a menu update at all ears has Cape May Cafe charging $26.99 for an adult and $12.99 for a child for the character breakfast. More expensive than Crystal Palace and Tusker House. Just wondering, to anyone who has eaten there recently, is the breakfast worth the price? Is Cape May Cafe special or just an average character breakfast?

We consider it to be the best character meal. It is less packed than Chef Mickey and has good food. The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable.

Cape May was one of the nicest character interactions we had. It's much smaller than Crystal Palace, so it felt more "intimate." The characters really took their time with the kids, and I was really pleased with the management. Personally, it's on my list of "must dos" for next time.

I found the food to be Golden Coral quality, very average and nothing stood out as spectacular. For food alone not worth a few cent's over $7. It was like any breakfast buffet found anywhere outside of WDW, other than you will find Mickey Waffles.

If your looking for interaction and willing to pay to get it, then you will not be disappointed, Cape May is the best I have experienced at WDW. However, if your also looking for a good culinary experience then this is not it.

We enjoyed our breakfast at Cape May very much. We had one of the first reservations of the morning so we were waiting as they opened. The dining room is bright and clean and the buffet items were hot and fresh. The character interaction was just fine for us. We didn't have any little children with us so a quick visit and a hug and snapping a few photos was perfect for us but I found it charming and pleasant. The location was great and we were done and walking into Epcot through the IG with full bellies.

I thought it was a very positive experience. I'm not sure if it was a $26 a person experience because I don't recall any items on the buffet that set it apart from any other breakfast buffet at Disney - I mean it was Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, cereal, etc. I probably wouldn't pay that just for the food offerings anywhere else but it was breakfast with Mickey and the gang and I was on the DxDP at the time so it wasn't so much of a factor. Hope that helps.

Cape May character breakfast is one of our must do character meals. The food is always hot and fresh, the waitstaff is always friendly and making sure our glasses and coffee cups are filled at all times, and the characters are awesome. My DDs have gotten better character interaction there than at any other character meals we have gone to. We always make it a point to do Cape May at least once during our trip. So to answer you question....absolutely, the price of Cape May character meal is most definitely worth it

We went last year purely by chance. I loved it as did my wife and our son thought it the best ever. The interaction was by far the best at Disney and the food was plentiful and hot. We did the DDP last year and were so impressed that when we booked again this year Cape May was first on out list.

WOW...I was there last week. I was on a dining plan, so didnt really pay attention to how much it was. No, not worth $26.99! Atmosphere is beautiful, but it had the least amount of options than any of the other 6 breakfast buffets we went to. I only got Mickey Waffles and some french toast baked something that was to die for! Other than that, they had a selection of breads, a baked egg dish that they consider an omelet, sausage, bacon, potatoes and some fruit. They do not make custom omelets.

The characters were Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald. You can see them all at Tusker House and Chef Mickeys.

I 100% agree with this. Character interaction is great, food is below average. I was disappointed to find no omellette station or egg station. My own fault for not researching in advance, but I just assumed for those prices, there would be made to order omlettes. We cancelled our reservation for breakfast there this coming trip and switched to 1900 Park Fare instead.

Cape May Cafe is absolutely on our list of "musts" for character dining. Granted, we also love Crystal Palace but I prefer to go to CP for lunch. CMC has great atmosphere and the characters always seem to linger there more than at the other resorts (especially at CP, where things can feel rushed). The food is what you would expect. No they don't do custom omelets but there is usually plentiful and varied. We always do either the dining plan, or the deluxe dining plan and I find it valuable.

We feel it is worth it for us.

We really enjoy the food and the characters. We also enjoy the Beach Club Resort. We have some great morning pictures of our kiddos on the Beach with the Boardwalk in the background. If you plan it for an Epcot day, it is just a short walk to the international gateway.

I have only had breakfast there, but it is the best in all of WDW! And the characters were wonderful! They came back to our table several times. The food is awesome and really good coffee, too.

I agree with this completely. We've had good character interaction at Cape May and the setting is lovely, however I was not impressed with the food. It was very standard buffet fare for me and yep, nothing I would pay over 7-9 bucks for if it wasn't in Disney.

No Flame thrower here! It has been 5 yrs. since I went to Cape May for breakfast. In my opinion, the food was wonderful. Yes, too expensive, as is most of Disney World restaurants. But, it was worth it to me.

We love Cape May. I love the quieter more relaxed atmosphere. Its the quietest character meal i've been to. I love that the characters take their time with you. I love the fact that the place is smaller than most restaurants. And the food is good! I admit i love crystal palace food a bit more because im in love with the breakfast lasagna and pooh's puffed french toast....but cape may food is also good.

We enjoyed our breakfast there very much and the character interaction was great. We did it on our first morning of my DD's first trip. She was four at the time and two years later she still talks about eating breakfast with the characters.
