We are staying at ASMovies and I have heard that Cape May is difficult to get to. Is it worth it for breakfast? Also, we are pressing the limit already on our table service ressies. Here's what I have so far:

CRT-bkfast
1900 Park Fare -dinner
Boma-dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern-dinner (son loves Minnie)
Coral Reef-dinner
Concourse Steakhouse-dinner (may be without son)
Le Cellier--dinner
Crystal Palace-dinner
Chef Mickey's--breakfast

We know we will have to pay oop for some of the meals. Any tips or suggestions on what we should get rid of. We wanted to do character meals and buffest because our son is very impatient :) He is a VERY PICKY EATER, as is DH, should we skip Boma?

Thanks for the feedback!!

We have some picky eaters in our group also, but we tried Boma and loved it. We are going back on the next trip.

As far as Cape May, we are going this trip for first time, but we are staying at BC, so travel won't be an issue for us.

Maybe do it on a morning you are going to EPCOT.

I've never eaten at Boma so I can't help you there, but we did eat at Cape may this past May. We did breakfast and the clam bake since we were staying at the YC. Breakfast was good, but Idk that I would travel out of my way to eat here, I would probabaly opt to eat a character breakfast in one of the parks. My only problem was they didn't have pancakes and thats all I wanted. lol However I would go back for the clam bake we thought it was soo good. :)

There is something for everyone at Boma (IMHO). :teeth: Like 60 something items on the menu every day or something crazy like that. It was our favorite meal of the whole entire trip. It's also the first place DH said I had to make ressies for next time! I didn't think the food was too exotic. I'm not really into very spicy food, or 'unusual' food, and I loved everything that I tried. There were so many soups, salads, meats, desserts, side dishes... Which reminds me... If you decide to eat at Boma, start off with small portions of everything so you don't get full before you have a chance to try everything. Some of my favorite things were the peanut butter rice, apple chichen soup, watermelon rind salad, and the bobotie casserole. Enjoy!

Looking at your other ADRs, I see that you have a lot of buffets planned. Boma is one of the best buffets I have ever eaten at in my life. Everyone in my party enjoyed it immensely. IMHO, I think it would be a good idea to keep this reservation.

Before our Boma reservation, we were able to walk around AKL and take in the beauty of the resort, especially since we went during Christmas time. There's so much going on. Our meal at Boma convinced us to stay at AKL this August.

I'm sorry I can't say anything about Cay May Cafe, it's also one that my family would like to try. I hope this helps.

I am an adventurous eater, and I didn't love the dinner at Boma. BUT, the buffet breakfast at Boma was my favourite!! The view was great in the morning too, since at night we couldn't see anything! :3dglasses

Cape May is always a favorite for us. Very good seafood, good 'land' choices. Oreo Bon Bons for dessert. Yummy!

Cape May is great for both breakfast and dinner. We had some really good character interaction there at breakfast. Its not so hard to get to if you plan you breakfast for after Epcot opens....just walk through and exit at the International Gateway. Beach Club is straight ahead up the path. You could also just get a cab if you don't have a car.

Boma is one of my personal favorites...can't say anything bad about it.

I absolutely loved Boma. I loved the exotic flavors. They have plenty of food for the non-adventurous as well, but the my boys and husband were less than enthused over the "regular" food choices. So even though I would go back in a heart beat, I've been vetoed.

We didn't have a rental car on the last trip and it was a big pain to get to travel to eat at another resort.

The AKL was gorgeous and the kids had great fun watching animals while we waited for our ADR time. If you haven't had a chance to see the Lodge I would highly recommend it!

Thanks Everyone!

Well, I am still undecided about Cape May, BUT, I am definitely keeping my reservation at Boma. Thanks for all the feedback.

We have a lot of buffets scheduled because we thought this might be easier with an impatient 4 year old. Will I be disappointed with so many buffets and not more sit downs?

Boma consistently has the best buffet breakfast on property.

Cape May we have tried twice: one for breakfast and once for dinner and we felt it did not meet our expectations either time.

If you are looking for characters for dinner with your little ones, perhaps check out Liberty Tree Tavern in MK for dinner (moderately priced and all you care to eat) with Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale, Goofy all in their colonial attire. Minnie's dress is especially beautiful.

Good luck and enjoy!

I'm doing a lot of buffets on our upcoming trip as well! DS5 is okay but DS2 has a hard time waiting for his food at full service. DS5 loves Donald so we are doing Donald's Breakfastosaurus at Animal Kingdom. We are also going to try the new Playhouse disney character breakfast at Hollywood and Vine in MGM.

Last year the boys also enjoyed the character breakfast at the Polynesion with Lilo and Stitch. You might notice we do a lot of breakfasts. My boys are little better behaved in the morning. :rotfl:

Unfortunately, mine isn't any better in the morning. :lmao:

Boma is wonderful for breakfast and dinner

Cape May's dinner buffet was a huge disappointment. We waited an hour to be seated despite having one of the earliest adrs (clearly overbooked). I love seafood but it just wasn't tasty.

I wouldn't worry about too many buffets- I've watched my sister deal with my four year old nephew and one year old niece and it makes complete sense to have a lot of buffets scheduled or restaurants that do a good job catering to the younger crowd.

Buffets are a plus b/c you can get food without having to wait. Usually the atmosphere is also more laidback too, especially at Disney. Have fun and glad you decided to keep Boma! :sunny:

Definitely don't miss Boma, we were really impressed with it!! It's worth the trip to get there. The hotel itself was beautiful too. We walked around a little before dinner. The kids liked going to see the animals outside.
Cape May breakfast was good, but not as great as I thought it would be. Food was good characters were good, Goofy and Minnie were the best. I agree with a previous poster and plan it on an Epcot day.

We LOVED Boma!

This was the only 'new' restaurant we picked for our trip last week, and the kids are insistent we go again next trip.

The kids requested Chef Mickey's the first night again, which we did, and they informed me this morning they have moved on to the 'been there, eaten that' phase. So, no Chef Mickey's in October. I must note that the Salmon at Chef Mickey's was DELICIOUS last week. I thought it was very good last October, but it was even better last week. Don't be afraid of CM!

We are thinking of Cape May for the next trip. The kids and I are going to try new places...

Good luck!

We LOVE Cape May for both breakfast and dinner. We've always been very pleased (and I'm picky) with the food and the CMs especially. It might make a difference that we eat early both in the mroning and evening. I don't know how things go as the days go on. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We tried Boma's for dinner and none of us were really happy or unhappy. Just eh. I'm not the adventerous eater and my hubby is and we both left with a well, the was okay, but not really worth it feeling. BUT we might try it again, we'll DEFINITELY try it for breakfast as we'll be staying there part of our coming trip.
