Is BWV worth $350 more total than OKW for a 6 night stay?

I've recently discovered renting DVC points, and have completed stays at Poly and Riviera. I've also got a BLT/CCV stay in a few months. I'm now planning April 2022 over Spring Break, so I know it's important to book right at the 11 month mark. I've got someone selling BWV @ 19pp and OKW @ 16pp. Same points values for the stay. I know typically people prefer BWV, was looking for some input from the experts.

Thanks!

I like both resorts, but BWV wins every time. The ability to walk to two parks, the Skyliner and the restaurants on the Boardwalk, in the Swan, Dolphin, BC & YC is most definitely worth $350!

Both are nice but staying at bwv makes it so easy to walk into the parks! Staying at the boardwalk also gives you the option to walk over to beach and yacht club for dinning.

Just know that the Standard rooms at BWV (the ones with the same point requirement as OKW) can be tricky to book even at 11 months. I like both resorts but would take BWV for the location.

Staying at bwv also gives you the option to walk to hollywood. Which is nice if you want to get there at rope drop.

I vote for BWV all day, but you may want to shop around for points. No offense to the person you're thinking of renting from, but $19 per point seems a little pricey to me.

I am definitely still shopping! Previously I have paid 12-16 a point but 11 months for BWV seems to have a hefty price tag. Most people have quoted me 20+ a point!

Especially if a studio. Really tough for even us owners to book.

I realize I am probably not going to get it... I want my res to start 4/16 aka Easter Saturday! I guess I am just reallllly hoping. Points for this time of year per night are so much higher than what I am used to but that is when we can go to F&G due to us being teachers.

Maybe not. OP is looking for spring break & will likely need the11 month window. Brokers are charging at least that much for priority bookings. Standard view studios will probably not be available - owners will walk for those.

I am an excited new owner at Boardwalk and just returned from BW during Flower and Garden. I would rent out points for a similar price.

If you don’t have a car- then a no brainer as far as short distance to travel to 2 parks each day. AK is same as most. Loved visiting Beach Club as well.

Boardwalk is awesome. If you are looking for a more laid back vacation, you might consider key west. Both good options.

I'd also vote to pay the extra $350 for the Boardwalk atmosphere and being able to walk to two parks. I don't think $19/point is crazy for an 11-month booking for Boardwalk standard rooms. Unlike many other rental requests, the owner would need to book right when the window opens at 8am to get the room (and even then a lot of owners can't get them since there are so many others trying at the same time).

$19pp isn't bad at all for BWV over Spring Break. Just make sure you have an owner set up in advance to book for you. Standard View Studios are already being walked for next year. Good luck!

We've stayed at OKW and BWV several times. BWV is better for the reasons already explained. (It's one of our Home Resorts.)

I'm not sure which room you are looking at but please be aware that the Boardwalk Standard View Studio is tough to get even for those who own there, with no availability at 11 months at the moment. (As @LSchrow mentions, it looks at if at least some of these rooms are already being walked for Spring Break.)

I'll assume 7 nights and the week of April 2-9 as an example of the cost differences:

OKW: 113 points X $16/point = $1808

BWV Standard: 113 X $19/point = $2147

BWV (anything else): 139 X $19/point = $2641

The point is, don't assume you're going to get a BWV Standard View even if you try to book it at 11 months.

But if you can, BWV is well worth the extra $350 for 7 nights.
