Is booking the same for a Disney Hotel but using DVC points?

Specifically, Grand Californian hotel (not the DVC). We were thinking of trying to book a room there...would I just call member services 7 months out or is there another process to go thru to book that? Thanks!

Go through MS the same way except you can book DLR hotels as far as 11mo out, no need to wait for the 7mo mark. I'd advise booking by at least 4 or 5mo out or your selection may be limited. Also, no $95 fee for booking. Once the VGC are available (ETA late 09), you probably won't be able to book the Grand Californian Hotel and will have to pay the $95 fee for the other two hotels...
