Is Blue Lagoon a private beach?

We are cruising in 8 days! I've booked the dolphin encounter through them, not Disney and our time is 1:30. I want to go to the Blue Lagoon Beach before the dolphin encounter. I just found out that Blue Lagoon is a private beach on Paradise Island. Is that correct? We are going to try to get to Blue Lagoon on our own. I need to know if this is possible and the best way to do it. Also, how would we get from Blue Lagoon to the dolphin encounter? Any info would be very helpful. I'm starting to stress over this!
