Is Biergarten the same at lunch as dinner?

We haven't done Biergarten in YEARS. (I'm from a German family, and there are some German restaurants in our area, so we don't really do it at Disney.)

BUT - next year for our big Grand Gathering trip, we want to do Biergarten. I want my nieces to get a little more of our German culture and think this would be great. (Especially the live music.) But even this far out, it's going to be tough fitting in everyone's choices for what they want to do.

I can make this work if we do lunch at Biergarten. It's super important to us to have the band playing and the dancing going on. Is lunch the same full show as dinner?

Thanks in advance!:flower3:

Bumping you in hopes that someone who knows will see this thread. Sorry, I'm not sure. I know the food is the same but don't know about the band.

Actually, the food is not the same. You get a few more meat offerings for dinner that are not on the lunch menu. I do believe the band/music/ and show are all the same for any time of day.

Scroll down for dinner add ons. When you make your ADR...ask what times the showtimes are. Have your ADR scheduled for about 20min before. Gives you time to go to buffet and then enjoy the show.

We really enjoyed this and thought the food was great.

On October 17, 1810, Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria celebrated his marriage to Princess Therese of Sachsen-Hindburghausen with one of the grandest festivals of Munich had ever know. Thus began the Oktoberfest tradition.

For 16 days late in September and early October, millions of celebrants from around the world are drawn to Munich. Music, beer, and Gemutlichkeit flow freely in the enormous, coloful tents that crowd Theresienwiese, a fairground named after the Prince's bride. Frauleins in peasant constumes serve steins overflowing with beer, while revelers feast on such traditional Oktoberfest fare as roasted chicken and seemingly endless varieties of Sausage called Wurst.

If you make your lunch reservation for late and it changes over to dinner after you sit down, you will be the best of both worlds. That's what happened to us once. The additional offerings for dinner were brought at after a certain time but since we were seated before the changeover, we paid lunch prices. I have not seen a difference in the band between lunch and dinner but then again, I was enjoying whatever they were doing and didn't compare and contrast the two experiences.

Here's the schedule from http://wdwent.com/

Experience the excitement of Oktoberfest with a festive dinner show in the Biergarten.
Daily at 1:15, 2:15, 3:15, 4:45, 5:55, 7:05 & 8:05pm

I'd attempt a lunch seating for 3:00 which gives you 15 minutes to get seated before the show. That show would last until about 3:45 and you might be getting the dinner options out by that time. But I have a feeling you will be stuffed from the lunch by that time.

And a word of advice - don't wait until after the meal to get dessert. Take a dessert every time you go up to the buffet. They are too good to miss out because you are too full.

Thanks for the info!

We'd also be going out for dinner that night, so I don't want lunch to be too late. My sister has three dining things she wants us to do. My dad has another. My grandmother has another. I have one. My mom likes another. (My BIL will be indifferent and my husband hasn't made any demands.) Plus we want to do CRT for my nieces as it will be their first trip. It's a lot of requests to meet!

We'll be doing the deluxe dining plan, so some of our lunches will be TS to make everything fit. My sister wants to do Teppen, so I'm wondering if maybe that wouldn't be a better lunch option and then just do Biergarten at dinner.....
