Is being locked out of reservations even a concern for non AP?

Hello,

We are planning a June trip, but are not ready to commit to tickets yet. Reservations for June are now open. Is there any reason to be concerned that should we purchase tickets in February/March that we would be locked out of our dates?

We usually do a package through Disney so this is never a concern - but we aren't this time because it is significantly cheaper to pay for hotel/tickets separately.

Shouldn't be a problem. They nearly always have reservations for either park available several months out. Only time I've seen reservations sold out would be for a super popular day (like a big holiday) or if you wait until the very last minute and try to get a next day reservation. But two or three months out for June you should have no troubles.

I have never had any problems with reservations and i am always super last minute with reserving. I get everything booked , set, and ready to go except I always seem to forget to make the park reservations...idk! I booked last minute for the first day of the Halloween season and I booked last minute for our Christmas trip that we just returned from. I literally make the reservations as we were about to walk through the entrance. You should be fine!

There is always a possibility. But it should not of great concern if you are planning to purchase tickets by March.

It’s rare that reservations for non-Magic Key passes are exhausted. Right now, reservations are available every day for DCA and all but two (today and Tuesday) for DL. And those days were available just a few days ago.

If you make reservations more than a few days out, you should be fine. And remember that you can always cancel or change those reservations until 11:59PM the night before.
