No, BCV is a seperate buliding like VWL, though a little closer then VWL. I unforunately have experience with this. If it's pouring, with driving rain, those covered walkways really do nothing.
It is a separate building with a covered walkway that connects them. I suppose if there were hurricane-force winds pushing the rain, the covered walkway would do very little, but under normal circumstances, it's fine.
One of the many things we missed at BCV this trip was those covered walkways. We were at Boardwalk and if you want to go to any of the restaurants in the rain you get wet. At BCV you have 4 choices of restaurants and a couple of lounges you can walk to without getting wet because of the covered walkways.
We were at BCV's last Sept./Oct. during hurricane Jeanne. Although yes there is just a walkway between the villas and the main bldng of BC, I wouldn't hesitate in the least to stay over a hurricane again! They did ask you to stay in your villa for up to 24hrs until the storm passed but you could still roam the halls within the villas bldng. itself and they set up a makeship food offerings type deal out of one of the studios on the 1st floor since you couldn't venture out to the main bldg....and being that we had a 1bdrm and plenty of food it was really no biggie.
