We are cruising in Oct- the $99 cruise- and have not decided on what to do in Nassua. Is getting a room at Comfort Suites or Atlantis worth the money?

There are 3 of us - me, DH and DD8.

I would like to get different opinions before spending that kind of money.

Thanks.

Depends if you like water slides and swimming etc.... if yes it looks like it is worth it. We just went to The Dig, and that was not too bad. So of the exhibits were dirty and not easy to view, but again overall not bad.

Other posters may be able to answer the price of Comfort vs Atlantis.

We booked a room at the Comfort Suites for our trip back in February. We paid $212 total (tax and everything) for the room. You may be able to find a better rate sailing in October. We had the best time and felt it was worth every penny! My boys (10 & 12) loved the slides, and so did DH! I didn't have the guts to do the really big one, but did the others and thought they were fun. The shark tank slide is very cool! I don't think it would be worth it to just go and look around and not use the pool area.

We brought some pop and juice boxes for the boys, and bought ourselves a couple of frozen drinks. Food is not cheap, so we ate more of a snack-like lunch and saved our appetites for dinner. I think we spent around $45 dollars on food/drinks, and then $40 on round trip cab fare.

It is a beautiful place and I would love to go back there some day. If you have any other questions, just let me know!

Let us know what you decide to do and how you feel about the Atlantis experience. We're doing the $99 cruise in December and we're considering a day at Atlantis.

Thanks for the reply. Anyone else?

I found a rate for Comfort Suites using AAA discount of $166 b/4 taxes and all the added stuff. Is this good for October????

Irishcowboy- The pictures Towncrier posted has really gotten me back in cruise mode. Can hardly wait until October.

SC Minnie, I think that we are on the same cruise. My friend and I will be doing the Atlantis thing after all. Hope to see you there!!!

We did Atlantis in May. If your DD8 is not at least 48 inches (I actually think their measuring stick is more like 49 inches) Your DD will not be able to do any of the big slides. My 7 yr old was so looking forward to the shark tank but was not allowed to ride due to his height.. It is a beautiful place, the aquarium is just ok, the water at the beach looked pretty but a little rough, we didn't use the beach and just snacked didn't order any food from the Atlantis. We were ready to get back to the ship by 2:00. We did not feel it was worth the money.

Atlantis is great fun, especially the shark tank slide (my personal favorite). One important thing to know is that kids have to be atleast 48 inches to ride the slides. They enforce this rule. My youngest was 1 inch too short and was not allowed on the big slides and therefore was upset (although he found a smaller slide that he liked and he enjoyed the lazy river tube ride at one of the other pools in the resort.) If your child is tall enough I would say it's worth the money, especially considering the cost of other excursions. Have fun!

I just realized how huge Atlantis is when I looked at a map of it on their website! If you get a room at Comfort Suites, which is across the street (right?) how do you get around in Atlantis. Please don't tell me the only choice is walking! I would like to do waterslides and pools but would also like to sit on the beach and it just seems like none of that is close to each other.

Sorry to say this but once in Atlantis, walking is the only way...
:(
