Hi, I read an old post from 2015 that Apple Pay is available at some locations in the parks and resorts, but it's been two years since that post, and was just wondering if Apple Pay is available throughout the WDW Resort?

Thanks for any info.

Thanks. You mean to tell me it's everywhere but some CMs don't know how to use it? Surely, they would receive training by now. I plan to use it mainly for security issues because I don't want anyone watching over my shoulder while I make a purchase with my credit card, and because it's convenient. Why not use it if you have it? Then again, one could always use their Magic Band to make purchases too. You don't need a PIN for that, I'm assuming... :)

You do need a pin when using your MB for purchases. The pin code can be set up in your MDE account.

Just be sure to tell the CM you are using Apple Pay for the transaction so they can select it prior to you activating the payment.

As long as it does not take a bite out of their profits, they should bake it in.

In all seriousness, it is a much more secure way to pay for transactions and MUCH more convenient.

You should try the little bar code gift cards they have for sale at food festivals.. Majority of cms outside of epcot have no clue how to scan it so I stopped getting them.

Can't get much easier or secure (seemingly) than scanning MB and entering PIN. Love it!

that doesn't always work either. I think it was epcot that last week had a full outage and bands didn't work and you had to use another form of payment and then deal with getting meals credited afterwards. let's just say most didn't have another form of payment with them.

Moral of this thread, always have a plan B when it comes to paying for things.

Agreed on security of MB, but their systems seem to go down more than they should.
Along with MB, I (and I suspect almost all due to our addiction with Social media) carry their phones, which is on a different network than MB. People may or may not carry cash/cards with them, so Apple pay would offer an alternate secure way (more secure than CC) to pay when MB system acts up.

Just 1 thing to note, it's very common on the "phone pay" methods to have incentives to use them. double points or cash back. I think right now my bank is doing 4x cash back for purchases in samsung pay.. If your not setup to use it, it might be worth while to see what money your leaving on the table. It adds up fast.

Well, two things I guess. We've never had an issue where the MB's didn't work (maybe just lucky??), and we 'always' carry small amounts of cash plus a credit card.

My card is doing a 20% bonus on phone pay methods for 12 months so there are bonuses out there to use technology!

Not all iphones have Apple pay. Mine is a 5s, so it doesn't have Apple pay as an option.

Everyone has been trained how to process it, but when a year goes by and you've never had to do it, that information isn't always in your memory.
