has anyone out there NOT met the room requirement?

i've got this fear people won't stay on the property or won't stay enough nights and i'm going to have to pay for all these unused rooms just to meet the disney room requirement.

honestly the room requirement is one of the main reasons i am hesitant about a disney wedding. well, that and the $10,000 minimum!!!

BUT I LOVE DISNEY WORLD SO MUCH!!!!!

I'm so HAPPY there :)

I'm worried too! I guarenteed 56 room nights and so far I'm up to like 25 or so but still 90 days til event. I hope people come around!! My WP said there isn't usually a problem with it but I'm still concerned.

Since you have to pay for them if not used you could always just give them to us DISers :lmao:

Heck give the dates and what needs to be done and I bet they will fill the rooms for you in no time.

I was concerned about my 25 however at last count I have 32 & a few more to book (although they won't be getting the good rate)

I'm worried about it too... we are anticipating 80 guests... however, the ones I've talked to so far are all staying on Disney property for at least 3 days. :cool1: I'm excited!!!

ladies please do not be worried about this - seriously. I was as well because I needed 75 room nights. But I am at 145 right now and still growing. Your guests will prob. book because of the great rates you are receiving. And as someone posted above you can post the dates you need help over in thsi forum or in one of the main forums for others to use. I did this for another bride. All you do is ask who will be there during your dates and ask for their reservation number. No one asks if they really know you or not :)

Remember, if they book through a travel agent or another resort that you did not choose, you can use that confirmation to fill your room block. The only resorts on property that don't count are Swan and Dolphin and maybe the SoG. Not sure about SoG though. The other idea is that you can offer the discount rooms to Dis members on the wedding boards. Or other friends.

We had 76 guests attend our wedding, and we guaranteed 75 room nights. We had about 1/3 of our guests stay off property. We didn't meet our room requirement until about 2 weeks before the deadline. I was pretty stressed about having to pay for extra rooms for a while, but it did work out. As other girls have said, if your room block is really lacking, you can offer it to people on the DIS. Also, any DVC rooms that are booked by your guests count towards your requirement, as well as any nights you book in the days before the wedding and/or for your honeymoon. I've been around the boards for almost 3 years, and I have yet to hear of a bride who didn't meet her requirement.
