Is Anyone taking Dr. Phil's challenge?

Yep! I am, I really like it.

There are several threads on Dr Phil here maybe on page 2 by now though lol.

Good Luck to all those taking the challenge. I'll be looking forward to your updated posts as you go thru the steps.
:D

I don't know about anyone else, but I think the idea of the challenge is great. I gather that the approach is to get your head into the process. We must have our minds in this or we won't succeed. I also think that there will be many--me included--who will find a representative in one of the 13 selected. I may be putting my name on the wait list at the library to review the book. Anything that one can do to help get and stay healthy is a good thing.

I got the impression on yesterday's show that not all of those selected were ready to put their minds into this. It was obviously a "first impression" based on what was shown to the viewers.

I think that we here on WISH have a better mind set than those 13 that will be struggling. I wish them success and think they should come over to visit WISH on occasion. I KNOW they will be inspired here!
:smooth:

Yes, I plan on taking the challenge. Thanks for the link. I am working my way through the book, very slowly, and making the changes I need to in my life. But I was thinking that I should really get on line and check out what he has in his website! Thanks!

Thanks for the link, I am going to go to the bookstore and get the book before the weekend. From what I have read on the boards, it sounds very intersting and think that it couldn't hurt to at least read it to see what I think afterwards.

I'm reading the book and following the plan. It's a little confusing in that I was on Atkins and now using the Dr. Phil book, which conflicts a little bit. I didn't even know about the website, so that will be a big help.

Does anyone think that this could be incorporated with Weight Watchers fairly easy or is it going to be confusing like it has been for lulu71?

I haven't actually gone through the food part of the book (trying to follow his direction not to skip around!), but in my *very* brief flipping I saw things like skim milk, grains and cereals listed, which is contradictory to Atkins. He also mentions that diet programs that exclude certain groups of foods, such as Atkins does, is actually detrimental because you tend to want to go out of control when they finally have these things. To me, Weight Watchers doesn't exlude anything so I think it would be fine. Perhaps someone who has gotten to the food plan could answer as to how different it would be than Weight Watchers, but I have a hunch it won't be much different. Good luck!!

Tammy I *think* it should work fine with WW.

I have been following his show and the website and haven't even seen what his eating plan looks like, but truthfully I'm getting less anxious about the food and counting points, but I still do it and am feeling better at it Weight Watchers is a pretty flexible plan, since there is nothing you can't eat!:)

Thanks! I'm going to pick up the book before the weekend and start reading. I went on the website today just briefly. I'm sure I need to read, but what type of a challenge is it?

I'm trying to decide how the book works with the WW plan, also! I'm thinking of starting WW this week, but am still interested in getting his book. Has anyone read his food plan yet? Would love to have some advice!!! ;)
