Is anyone selling on Craigslist?

Posted 2 items this week. Awesome condition for new baby.

About 4 inquiries, one mentioning offering more than selling price....then once I reply and give phone number- nothing. Not a word back. It kinda sucks.

I just listed new in box itmes. fisher price spark art easel and a rose petal cottage with everything included. I got one e-mail. Asking where I lived. I thought it was a dumb question since the ad state what town I live in. I'm not willing to give out exact location since I will probably just meet at the end of our street there is a fire station there and a church.

Cleaned out my closet last week...and listed all of the clothing together as a huge lot. Only one response but she lives close by. She also offered to pay an extra $10 if I deliver since her car is being worked on. I looked up her neighborhood and it is a good one. I was going to donate the items but thought I would try CL first. Every little bit helps. Hopefully in an hour I will have all of the clothes gone and have an extra $50 in my pocket.

I've been able to sell a bunch of newborn diaper packs ($5 ea) that I couldn't use. Other than that, I'll get a response here and there but I don't think people are buying, either. Craigslist used to be ridiuclous-- you'd post something and 5 min later you'd get a barrage of emails. Now, nada. I post pics, location, and everything. ::sigh::

Here's my two cents: its prime yard sale season here in New England and I suspect that people are hitting the yard sales rather than Craig's List. My personal observation is that many of the prices on CL are just too high. Why should I pay $10 a piece for men's shirts when last weekend at a yard sale I found 6 long-sleeve J. Crew dress shirts for DS16 for $1 each!!! Plus a dark brown narrow wale Gap corduroy blazer for him, also $1!!!! DD14 bought over 40 clothing items for $10 at a different sale including jeans from Forever 21 and shirts from Wet Seal.

I have never sold anything on CL but I attempted to make my first purchase yesterday. I responded to a baby item that I really want to buy and the seller immediately replied that it was still available. I replied back to set up a time for me to meet them and make the purchase and they never responded. I attempted again today to contact them and they still haven't responded.

I think I will just give up on CL.

OP HERE. Just wanted to give an update. Over the last 3 weeks or so, I have finally gotten some responses to posts on craigslist. I have even sold my two largest items. A futon for $140.00 and a set of pedistals for a washer/dryer for $190.00. I have also sold a few clothing items. I have had a few no shows, a few junk responses, but at least some feedback.

Maybe the poster from New England is right, everyone was busy with the garage sales and now that those are winding down, people have gone back to craigslist.

I still have over 20 items listed, so I'll have to see how the next few weeks go.
