I am not a huge Halloween fan.. MY kids like to go Halloweening but I think they are less excited because I never made a huge deal out of it. Are we really missing something if we dont go to MNSSHP ?????

I dont think the kids *(ages 15, 14, 10 ,7,7 ) will be hugely disappointed but I dont want to miss a chance of a lifetime event either..
Should we go ??
We'll be in Disney from Sept 30 til Oct 9th...
Thanks Amy ~ :confused3

I've been in Disney during MNNSHP and didn't go. It's a TON of money and it's really crowded. I MAY go to MVMCP at some point, but I don't think I'll do the Halloween event.

I come all the way from Belgium, planning my trip so I can go the the Halloween party. Been in 2002, 2003 and 2005... Can not make it out there this year and am realy sad about it... I love Halloween. It is so worth it.... tha parade, the atmosFEAR, the specials, candy... is all worth it....

Next year... I'll be back!

try it. It is great....

we loved the halloween party. we were there from the 20-26th. we went to dinner and then the party. Infact i liked it better than the christmas party. we loved being able to ride the rides with less crowds. right after we had dinner at crt we headed back and rode the haunted mansion. we were on it all by ourselves. we then rode btmrr several times in a row without getting off. We loved seeing the headless horseman and all the villians in the park. The fireworks were also not to be missed. We had great fun. Im 29 and my brother is 14. It would be a not miss for us.

Went last year, and we're not going again! It was too expensive for a firework show and a parade, top it off if it rains, its just too crowded, WAY too crowded... not worth the investment!! imho

I'm not going because I'm going in December this year instead, but otherwise I love going in October and would definitely be there. I adore MNSSHP - the atmosphere, the parade, Hallo-wishes, little to no lines for rides, the villains "coming out to play" on the forecourt of the castle - everything!!

What's crazy is that I have never been a huge fan of Halloween either. I think that mostly comes from when my kids were little and the dreaded task of finding and/or making the "right" costume - ugh. Ever since my first MNSSHP in 2002, I just love it.

When my daughter was 18, she and I went. She wasn't as excited about the Halloween part as I was, but thought it was well worth it for the "no line" rides alone.

You could make it a sleep in day, swim in the pool, enjoy a leisurely lunch, and many like to get to MK early. Past precedent has been anytime after 4 with your party ticket. I prefer to go to another park in the morning, have a late lunch, go back to the resort to nap and go to MK about 6:30-6:45. I love walking up to MK as the party is starting and taking that first walk onto Main Street. It sets the perfect mood for me. If you go, try for midweek.

It's a lot of money, I know. Good luck deciding!!

I love the Halloween party and would love to go again. But the week we are there, it's only on Friday night, and we have to get up early the next morning to drive home, so no party for us :(

We're not going, just not hugely interested. I'm sure its a great night and beautiful but we'll wait until we have kids. We have other things we'd rather do with the money at Disney.

And yes, we do know lots of adults go to the party without kids! It's just not a priority for us this time round.

We'll be there for the Sept 15th party and neither of us have been before (me- 24 and my mother, 58) but we are actually considering it now. She loves parades and fireworks and offered to pay my share to get me to go (I can't afford it with how I budgeted- I wasn't planning on an extra expense like this).

I've never been to Disney when it was going on and we really can't decide whether or not to go. We'll see!

We're not going this year but we have been previously. Since we happened to make other trips, we decided not to go to any of the parties this year.

Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates Halloween! What's up with starting MNSSHP on September 15? ($$$) I thought I had planned my trip around escaping MNSSHP, wrong! We have a running joke at my house that soon Disney will be having MNSSHP right after Easter. Last year (at the end of September) they even replaced my beloved Wishes with Hallowishes on some of the regular nights, ick.

We're not going either. We went to MVMCP last year and I thought it was a waste of money and time. I'm going to assume the Halloween party is the same. I believe EPcot is having EMH night the same night as the party when we go, so I'm hoping Epcoting will be dead since everyone is at MK.

I'm going! :wave2:

We LOVE both MNSSHP and MVMCP and so far we've done 4 MVMCP parties and 3 MNSSHP parties with our 4th MNSSHP this October 26.

They are so much fun and festive. The parade and fireworks alone, IMHO, are worth the price of admission.

And you also get to see rare characters around and trick or treat at MK. What could be better!? My kids LOVE it. They are 6 1/2 and 10 and have been going to parties since ages 1 and 4.

Good luck deciding.

We're going for the 1st time on 9/15, day before we leave to go back home, we won't dress up in costume, think it will be too hot, but maybe do orange t-shirts with halloween print on. DD, 11 thinks she wants to dress up though and that's all ok with me :thumbsup2

Went to both MNSSHP and MVMCP last year. We liked MNSSHP better. That said we won't be returning. We are season passholders and found that the parties were very expensive for our family of 6. Neither party made us so excited that we feel we need to return year after year. Glad we did it once, but now we've been there done that.

Okay some posts say that it is crowded and some say not, I had thought about going on Oct. 30 or 31. Is it going to be crowded those nights?
And is it really worth the money??

We have done the halloween party two times and the Christmas one four times. We are not doing the halloween one this year. It is fun if the crowds are low. Most of the time the crowds are huge. We can wait less time in the reg lines during the day. I would do it again if the money allowed and the kids wanted to, but I would do a weekday(not Thursday, Friday). It is just a lot of extra money for us to spend since we have 6 kids.

We're not going. Too many "big" things hit home in the last 6 months, so I couldn't justify going.

Maybe one year, just not this year.

I thought about it but with the Premium plan we have way too much other stuff to do and since it costs extra we said forget it - already paid out enough for this vacation.
