Is anyone here a secret shopper?

What store(s) do you secret shop for? How did you sign up? It sounds like a neat thing to do for a little extra money or free meals, but I wouldn't want to sign up for one that is a scam.

I've got a few applications in. I know someone that is a secret shopper and she enjoys it.
You fill in an application and it details about where you are and where you would like assignments. Some also ask you what areas you would like to do this in.
There are lots of websites about it, you are bound to find something that sounds interesting.

I have been approved for a couple of different companies but so far I have not been able to do any work since the places to shop are not near me. I did a search on the internet for secret shoppers ansd several popped up.I applied for three and was approved for two of them. The other one told me that they had no clients anywhere near where I live.

I'm a secret shopper! I do it for a national restaurant chain. I found out about it from an ad posted right next to the cash register at one of the restaurants. I filled out an application and was contacted by mail. When they need me, they contact me by phone and ask me which restaurants I'm willing to shop. Then, I get a gift certificate in the mail to cover my shopping and another larger gift certificate to enjoy at my leisure.
