This is a hard physical job. Much harder then nursing.

You know, I loved your post, but I have to be honest, I hate seeing statements like this. I know my job as an RN is extremely physically demanding and stressful as well. Suffice it to say we all work hard.

When I have had two units(7 vents.) on different floors with 18 pts. total and the nurses have 2 pts. max in the units. And the nurses are eating, playing video games, chatting on phone and I have not finished first rounds yet and it's 11:00? Yup I'm working much, much harder. Ow my aching feet, back, legs.

My stepson is an RT and loves it. He has moved up by taking every learning opportunity that has come his way and has been rewarded with increases and changes (for the positive) in his position. He is very happy with the path his carreer is taking him. He started by taking a two year RT course at a private career college where he graduated with an AA degree.

My DS has been struggling for some time trying to figure out his path and after alot of thought and a semester in community college has decided to follow in his older brothers footsteps and starting next semester start taking the classes that are prerequisites for the RT course offered at the JC. Due to our current financial state if he completes all his courses in a timely manor his financial aid should cover just about the entire thing without having to use student loans. It would be a blessing for him to be able to begin his career without debt.
