Is anyone going to watch Jay Leno's last Tonight Show?

It's kind of weird as he will be back in the fall anyway. :confused3 Still, he's been hosting the Tonight Show for 17 years. :worship: Seems like he deserves a good send off, even if it won't be like when Johnny Carson retired & we all cried when Bette Midler sang.

There's no guarantee Jay's show in the 10pm time slot will make it. I'd rather say goodbye properly now, :wave2: than give him a lukewarm "Bye!" at 10pm in several months.

I didn't even know he was retiring. I don't find him funny at all.

Can't stand him. I just wish he would go away. He used to be funny. Back in the day, when he was a guest on the Letterman show, he was hilarious. Now I find his humor lame and I think he sucks as an interviewer. Needless to say, I won't be watching.:cool1:

We are watching it now too - the Jay Walk Allstars are on - very funny

...:scratchin can people REALLY be that stupid??!?! :confused3

Unfortunately YES. It always frightenes me when I meet one. :scared1: I keep thinking of Darwin's "Survival of the Fittest" and how there seems to be so many of them, and there are more all the time! :scared1:

As for the show, that was hardly worth tuning in for.

Never have liked Jay much at all, BUT I will be watching Conan O'Brien every chance I get.

I watched his "Last" show and liked it. I thought he did a nice job of welcoming Conan and paying tribute to his crew, etc. Jay Leno went to my college about 10 years before I did and he has always been really nice to alumni and students, etc. He is a generous and kind person who very, very quietly goes about charity work. He does not seek publicity for it. I have always enjoyed watching him. I like Letterman too, but Jay has consistently won in the ratings. They are both so different!

I am really anxious to watch Conan becuase I think he is hilarious! Kudos to Jay for being so gracious about the switch which he admitted he did not want.:goodvibes

I was going back and forth because I was curious of how they would end the show. I was never a Jay Leno fan but depending on who he had on the show I would watch.

I am a HUGE Dave Letterman fan and he had Robin Williams on last night and he was hilarious!!! Then I put back on Leno. I did like the end to his show with all the kids, I thought that was very sweet and he was very gracious.

I think Conan is going to do great and I do wish Jay luck with this new show.

...yeah, how disappointing...:confused3

I watched mainly just to see Conan. Not a big fan of Jay, especially in most recents. Just didn't find him all that funny. I did think he did a great job welcoming Conan.

Can't wait for Conan. Dh and I have tickets to attend one of his first Tonight Show tapings next week.

I thought the end was really sweet. Bringing out the 17 year old who was the firstborn of the staff, and then the curtain goes up and there are all the children that have been born since the show began. And last shot, him lying on the floor on his side in front of them. :goodvibes

...wow, very kewl! :thumbsup2

I had to work late last night, so I couldn't see a lot of it, but I did ask my mom to tape the interview with Conan. I got home early enough, watched the interview, and then just watched the rest of the show. I don't normally watch Jay on a regular basis, but I had to last night just for Conan.

I'm a *HUGE* Conan fan. I was really upset when I originally found out he was moving to LA to take over Jay's spot. Now I'm actually getting excited, but to me "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" will always be the best! Can't WAIT until Monday!

JEALOUS!!! Have fun! I see you live in CA though so it's probably easier for you. When you're in WI, it's not easy to fly out to LA to see a taping. Someday I'm going though.
