Is anyone getting college credit for the CP?

Most likely not. My college would probably accept them but Disney offers no classes that I require. I have more than enough electives. I might try to take an online course or two.

i will be. its just a 3 hours internship business credit but i have to take one of the collegiate disney courses

My school give 6 hours of credit. However, I'll be graduated by the time I go (if I get in Fall 2010). Therefore, I wouldn't get credit but I'm still thinking of taking a class for the experience.

My school will give me 12 credits for completing the program (without having to take any of the classes), as well as an extra 3 credits for completing a one-week leadership development course before heading down there.

Now if only I'd get that acceptance email...

My school doesn't give any credit just for going, but I need to take 12 hours to keep my scholarship. Anyone ever tried for that? Is it possible to take enough courses to make it to 12?

My advice for anyone whose advisor told you no:

go to career services! Go to anyone else who might handle internships. My advisor told me my school doesn't give credit for paid internships, but then I talked to someone in career services, and they told me some people have gotten credit for doing the CP before. Don't settle for just one opinion.

Are you talking about online classes through your school? Taking four three hour courses would put you at 12 hours, which is full time. I imagine that would be difficult though, with the hours you'll be working at Disney. People work full time and go to school full time all the time, though, so I it would just depend on what kind of person you are and if you know you can handle that kind of workload.

See if there's another college in your state you could maybe transfer to for the semester that would give you credit. Be careful though, make sure you'll be able to transfer back to your original school and transfer your scholarship back.

I'm doing it as a CO-OP, so I'll still technically be enrolled as a full time student for insurance/scholarship purposes, get honors credit, and thanks to APs still graduate on time (unless I do another season lol).
Does your school have a similar CO-OP type program? I found Career Services was very helpful!

I got 12 credits and took an online course. I wish more people at my school would get interested, considering the huge amount of support they offer!

You could always check and see if you can take online classes if your school is a night division. I was able to do this, and the one class I took only lasted 8 weeks and it was 3 credits.

Out of curiosity, where do you go to school?
