The area around Eagle Pointe? We are going to be staying in a home in Eagle Pointe end of december begining of january, and I am just curious about what was in the area? Like grocery stores and restaurants? Any info is apprecited! :D

Hi Banchee,
To be honest with you this place is a bit out of the way and you will drive through some kind of tough neigborhoods to get there. EP is about 2 1/2 miles south of 192 east of Disney on Poinciana Blvd.. It will be 12 to 15 minutes to Disney via 192 and if busy it will be longer. Late December will be very busy, so I suggest when you come north from the home on Poinciana Blvd go STRAIGHT ACROSS 192 and do not turn left toward Disney. Go about a mile and take the Osceola Parkway west for a really slick way into Disney. It will cost about 50 cents but worth it if there is a lot of traffic on 192.

Lots and lots of restaurants on 192 but not sure if there is a grocery very close....this is hotel row for Disney along 192. When you drive to the home the first time look for a grocery. think there are a few small strip mall groceries by Poinciana Blvd, but they will be pretty expensive.

I know there is a Super Walmart about two miles east on 192 from Poinciana, so if you are going to load up on groceries it will be worth the trip. It is very close to MidEvil Times Dinner Theater. Maybe someone else knows more about this area and can pinpoint a grocery.

Good Luck..Ted

Hi Ted when you say tough neighborhoods do you mean we will be running the risk of beign murdered????? Is Eagle Pointe a bad neighborhood????? All the pictures I have seen from around the neighborhood seem like it is a nice clean place. I am afraid now:eek: Also 12 minutes to disney is what the home owner said it would take to get there. We plan on going to disney on January 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th and doing Seaworld on December 31st and January 1st. Thanks for all the info it is REALLY appreciated!!!:wave2:

tough neigborhoods?? Ted, you gotta be kidding. We had friends staying about 2 1/2 miles south of US192 on Poinciana this spring (I don't think it was Eagle Pointe though) and can't imagine what you are are talking about. It's a somewhat sparsely populated area with a number of villa / timeshare resorts along it and a middle class subdivision. Definitely nothing to worry about.

All the rest of what Ted said is good advice.

Hi..I guess "neighborhoods" may have been the wrong word...My memory is a lot of open space with some pretty basic homes and a couple of very basic mobile home courts. The Housing developement is off to the left and certainly full of nice homes.

I think it will be totally safe as long as you go from 192 to the home. I just asked Yvonne, my spouse and she thought that there is really nothing to be concerned about at all...Eagle Point itself is very nice.

Sorry, I didn't do a very good job putting you at ease...It is just a different area than west of Disney...
