Is anyone else waitlisted in December??

My family has a ressie for SSR from 12/4-12/14 (which I am very excited for!), but recently decided to try & experience another DVC property for the 12/4-12/8 portion of our trip, since they all sound so great! (I can't wait to try them all!)

So now I'm waitlisted for basically any other resort that has a Studio opening from 12/4-12/8.....I was put on the waitlist almost a month ago, and haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully something comes through, although we'll be very happy staying at SSR for the entire time!

Anyone else waitlisted during the same time frame? Maybe we can all send each other some pixie dust!!

We're waitlisted for the standard view at BWV...we have a 1bd garden view reserved from the Dec 5-10. I'm still hoping for the standard view....but, I am not holding my breath!! We have been on the waitlist for that since April 9 (before the 7 month window opened for non-owners). I think it was just not meant to be this year!!

Good luck with yours!!! Since you are trying for "any resort" maybe you will be able to get something!!!

We are waitlisted for the 10th I think... we have the 9th (or the opposite - reservations are at home and I am out of town).

We have a reservation at SSR for 11/27 thru 12/10 (first trip home as DVC members-joined end of june). We are waitlisted at the other resorts and have a partial reservation at BWV for the same time but still missing about four days. You should try waitlisting day by day it worked for me on both. Picked up a fews days at a time rather than the whole stay, it took about two weeks to get SSR except for 3 days, a week later waiting on just one day(12/9) then it came in about a week later.

Jim---When you waitlist day by day, doesn't it get risky in case you aren't able to fill in all the days? Like, could you conceivably end up at SSR on a Monday, then at BCV on a Tuesday, than back at SSR on a Wednesday? (Assuming in this scenariou that BCV was only available for your Tuesday waitlist). Am I missing something? Your idea sounds worth contemplating, if I can figure it out!! LOL!

Yes, but when i called in july there was nothing available at any of the resorts. Got lucky and got the first four days first. Figure worst comes to worst stay four days at SSR and book the rest at POR. We stayed there in May and really liked it. But I waited out and got the rest of my days. Plus I could always cancel at SSR and book the whole stay at POR.

Sarah...yes, a standard view would save me 30 points for those five nights alone!!! We were just trying to use the "banked" points that came with our resale contract, and not have to use any of our current UY points. This would enable us to do that.

We were scheduled at SSR (1br) for 12/4-12/8 and waitlisted at VWL, BCV, and BWV...just found out we got our first choice (VWL) and are all set! However, because we had good luck with this, we're on the WL for 12/2 and 12/3, too. (we're currently scheduled at Celebrity Resort and Spa through our II timeshare so we do have somewhere to stay if the WL doesn't work). So, it does happen! Here's wishing Christmastime pixie dust to all December WL DVC'ers!
