Money is tight (I think this is true for most of us)...I see layoffs looming at work (where will I fit in?)...Jeffrey had the accident in May where he totalled his car (the only one paid off)...we weighed all the issues and decided since he will be commuting for at least 6 years back and forth we would buy a new one that will last...3 weeks ago we just got it out of the body shop as someone backed into it...My dog with the heart problem has now truned bluish 3 times in the last 2 months...then there was the stray cat I posted about...we got her adopted but it cost $225 in vet bills...Friday night we got the 1:57am phone call...oldest son Kevin was hit by a hit and run driver who ran a red light...the car is sitting at the shop that has seen about 12 or 14 jobs from us already (2 were our fault)...my DHs company is not doing well and is heading to layoffs...had a MAJOR problem in Jan with my youngest....

Anyone else want to join my pity party? One day only, then join back into the happy party.

My best, Donna. Life sure can throw some curves at times. Know well the folks here on the DIS always have an open ear, a big shoulder, a kind word.

Donna, sorry to hear its been such a bad year. I had one of those in '97. :(

Understand totally about the work situation as I wonder every day how much time I have left.

Here's hoping things get better as the rest of this year goes on and that 2004 is a wonderful year for you!

Thank Goodness that your son wasn't seriously hurt in the accident. Sometimes even ONE blessing can blot out a host of sorrows.........

You sure have been through a lot this year. I'll join in your pity party today, but tomorrow we have to look at the good things that have happened (broken cars instead of loved ones and new fur babies). I hope things start looking better for you before 2004.

You're WELCOME:) :) :) .....

I'm sorry things are bad :(
I'm in the same boat as you with layoffs looming for DH and I. And DH has health problems that may be cancer.

I guess the important thing is to remember that it can always be worse and that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Here's to good luck in 2004!

Jenn hope all goes well with your DH. {{{Hugs}}}

Disclaimer: I am VERY well aware of what could have been this year...I wish I could post the pics of Jeffrey's car(the telephone pole won). I am very blessed. :)

Awww, Donna...

Believe me I know about bad years! I'm glad you realize that you are blessed. It could've been so much worse.

Count your blessings, honey. And in the long run, we GROW from our trials. No one becomes a stronger person through easy times, we have to go through.

Smile, and I will be joining you in the celebration for 2004! :teeth:

I am hoping that BEFORE 2004 that everyone's year turns around....well, the ones who are having a rough 2003 :) 2004 is too far away...things need to turn around before then for many on the DIS.

DopeyRN, I'm really sorry you are having such a rough time of it this year. I've had some years like that and they are the absolute pits.

You would not believe how badly I am looking forward to 2004. I think about it every day and I know it's going to be a great year for us. The biggie is that my dd Ashli's bf Titus will be coming home from Iraq. That means a whole lot. Then it is also going to be my dd's first year in college which I know she is going to love. And it will be a good time for my dh and I to spend a lot of time alone together. It's been a long time since we got to do a lot of that. Yep, 2004 is all set to be a banner year!
