Is anyone else liking the new FlexPoints plan as much as me?

For some reason, switching to this new plan has really been fun for me. (Of course, I mean weight loss fun, not fun like WDW, lol!) I love the flexibility of the extra flex points. I feel like I have much more freedom with those extra points. That way if I have a day where I'm especially hungry, I can have a little something extra without feeling like I fell off the wagon. Do you other WWers like it too?

I'm liking Flexpoints, and finding it easy to keep track. It's easier to keep my "target" in mind than a range, and I like the flexibility of the flexpoints.

And have you checked out the new Flexpoints CALCULATOR? I'm a bit of a techie-geek, and I love anything with lots of buttons... I'm LOVING this calculator- I gave my old one away!

This one automatically starts each day with your points target and your flexpoints balance. You set the clock in it once, and tell it what day you want to start your new week. It has displays to keep track of your water, milk, and veggie servings for the day. It will calculate your activity points (input intensity of exercise, length of exercise and your weight) and let you add those points to your daily allowance. It also will compute points values for food, and it functions as a regular calculator.

It starts each day fresh, with the appropriate points target and the remaining Flexpoints balance.

I'm not writing anything in the new tracker- the new calculator is so much easier for me to use than the old one was!!!

Wah!! No fair!! That new calculator sounds FUN!!! :)

Kathy - does that mean activity points will be added directly to the target number? I am concerned about hitting 24 with the weight lifting. Today was just the first day but I am hungry!!

Do you think anyone would notice if I sneak in and buy one?

Wow! I'm gonna have to get in for another weigh-in soon. Since I made Lifetime, I only have to weigh-in once a month, and I've gone in twice already in August, just not since Flex points started.

I really need to get back with the program. I haven't been keeping track of my points and journaling like I keep saying I'm going to...I haven't gained, but I would like to drop a few more pounds and it's just not happening!!

Kathy, I haven't tried the calculator yet. It sounds cool though! I did subscribe to the WW eTools online today. It has the same sort of thing as you're describing online, and since I'm an internet junkie, I love it. It also has some really cool other features that I'm looking forward to trying out like figuring out how many points are in some of our favorite recipes.

Here's what the calculator looks like:

Terry, you choose whether to use your activity points or not. When you enter them, they show up by the activity icon (lower left corner of the display). Then you can choose to "swap" activity points or flex points by moving them to your "total points remaining" balance for the day.

I used 5 flex points on Monday. Can you see the "flex" at the upper right corner? It shows 30.0 points, and that will stay there until next Monday (when my new week starts), unless I use some of them by swapping them to my "food points remaining" bank.

The four icons on the left side of the display are for Water, Milk, Fruit/Veg, and Activity.

It's a lot easier than I'm probably making it sound!:p

I love that it can keep track of my water for the day!

OMG!!! That is SO cool!!!! Do you even need to journal anymore?? What a sweet little tool! (Can you tell I am a gadget girl too? )

I'm not using the regular journal AT ALL this week. I have everything I need right on the calculator! It has really simplified my life.

I am jealous Kathy!!!!! So much better than my calculator!!!! I WANT ONE!!!! Ok I jsut got a new one a few months ago when mine broke so DH would never go for it but it is sooooo cool!!!!! Then again I can't really afford meetings every week so I am relying on the kindness of you all to help me with this new program!!!

Whoaaaaaaa, I am loving that new calculator!! That looks soooo cool and sounds like it would be so much easier to use and I could carry it around in my purse and can you tell I've already talked myself into buying one??? :teeth:

I've just started the new program, but so far, I like it. The points tracking in particular seems to make a lot more sense to me. I did notice that bacon is now 4 points for 3 slices instead of 3 points like it was in my old book. I'm not a big bacon eater, though, so it won't really affect me. Did anyone notice any other point changes?

Eek! There are point changes? I think my old 123 plan is getting further and further away from the current program. Here's hoping it won't affect my progress!

Dotti's web site didn't mention the new Flex point plan at all when I checked. Any other sources of WW info on the web?

There aren't supposed to be any differences in point values. Sometimes the materials will be updated to correct typos, or to correct outdated info...

Terry, your 123 point info's been working for you for the last 50 pounds. Would you really abandon it now?
;)

I personally LOVE flex points so far. I had my meeting tonight but it just sounds SO much easier for me to stay on track. Personally, I never banked or kept track of banked points b/c I'm not a math wiz at all and it just befuddled me, LOL!

I'm looking over my materials now. I kinda want the calculator, but it's $30! Ugh...maybe next payday! LOL

That's great news.

You can do it.

God bless, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

The calculators are $25 in Maine. I would need to buy 2 though- 1 for me and 1 for dd.

I like Flex Points too- I haven't used many, but I like the fact that they are there. I didn't lose much last week, I think it will show up this week though.

I weighed in today, with checkbook handy to buy a calculator and my WW location is OUT OF THEM!! They sold out before the end of last week!

They said they're on order, so I will check again sometime next week.

In my meeting, they also said that cooked carrots are 1 point, while uncooked are 0 points. Makes sense b/c of the fact they kind of "carmelize" when they cook. I liked uncooked better, so I'll just stick w/those. :)

Today is my last day of my first week useing the Flex points and I _LOVE_ it it is just wonderful. This is coming from someone who lost 75 lbs and became lifetime on Winning Points so I liked Winning Points but I am finding the Flex Points just easier to keep track of...I had to modify all my Winning Points journals to keep track of my banked points the way I liked to see them and with this Flex Points I don't have to worry about it because they are just little circles to check off.
I stopped journaling on Winning Points about 6 months ago because of stresses in my life and FlexPoints has been just what I needed to lose the 10 lbs I gained in that 6 months. I couldn't be more pleased with it.

Although I am only completing my 3rd week on WW, the new plan is great. I went under my points two days, was on target for 4 and ate 53 points one day. I still have flex points to spare.

I was told that a long time WWer did it this way because eating the same amount each day made her plateau. So, once a week, she ate alot and just stuck to the mid level of her range the rest of the week. In WW they call it the "wendy" plan.

Instead of the calculator, I joined at work and then on-line and calculate everything on that. It saves your meals for a very long time and does everything for you. On-line a 3 oz. chicken is 4 points than in the book which is 3. I did hear that bacon went up in last weeks meeting.

Someone said they cheated the program last week. HOw is that possible? You can't cheat on this program, unless you do not record what you eat!!!! But if you wanted something sinful, you could have it.

Today I was at the Mall and couldn't figure out what to have. I saw Subway and instead of getting the chicken salad or sub, I opted for the Tuna sub (what I wanted). I ate it, enjoyed it thoroughly, and marked that I ate 10 points. I came home and made a small mexican pizza.

This program is awesome.

I really love this program!!!!! It has given me the freedom from guilt. I was either "on or off" the program. I had to be "perfect". This has just been so liberating. I have made great choices this week and feel very goo about it!
