I am totally jonesing for Disney - and I still have five weeks to go!!!

We have had snow on the ground pretty much since early December. It's been a LONG, COLD winter - with much too much time spent cooped up inside with DS6 and DD4. They are driving me insane!!

For the past few years we have traveled to WDW in early February - and now I know why! It was so nice to have that trip to get us through these last long weeks of winter!! This year DH insisted on going during our kids' spring break - and so I wait. And wait and wait and wait. Can't think of a worse winter to wait through! It's killing me! I NEED my Disney fix! :-)

Just thought I'd reach out to my fellow DISers and see if anyone else is in the same boat. Perhaps we can unite in our agony and make it through!!! Five weeks seems like a lifetime today!!

Yes! Our winter has been SO long and SO snowy. My kids have missed an unbelievable amount of school (in fact, my dd has school this SATURDAY to make up one of the snow days). Thankfully our trip is in less than 3 weeks and I'm counting down every.single.day. I cannot wait to soak up some sunshine and not have to put 12 layers on everyone just to walk outside.

Our vacation is next week and I'm going crazy. I live in PA and the snow has been ridiculous this year, almost 60 inches in 1 week! I need my sun and warmth. I'm going insanely crazy and to top it all off it's my first trip to WDW and Florida so I'm super excited. Even my DS with ADHD who HATES change can't wait to get out of here!

We leave in 5 weeks too !! I can't wait. DH is a teacher and he has had alot of time off (& done nothing !! a little laundry and let DD 2.5 nap at 5 o'clock:mad:) I NEED A VACATION!!! I can't wait.:cool1:

I'm about to DIE! First off, this has been the worst winter ever, even for being sunny south GA. Last week it snowed. However, today it was 70º. That just made my cabin fever worse because I know it's not going to last.

Second, I know this will be the last trip for a while because I don't want to bring an infant to WDW. We took at 18m and that was fine, but still a lot of work! So it might be 2 years before we get back down there.

We have less than 2 months left - can we make it??

Well - I've never been in Feb (a bit cold for me down there) but I'm not quite to where you are. We are going for our spring break for our first trip to DisneyLAND. I am a WDW vet and am so nervous and am actually happy to have more time to plan because I am way behind. Back when I was a newbie at WDW, I would bring day-by-day park plans (time to arrive, time of shows, order of rides and FP's to get), shrink them down and laminate them, put holes in the corner and keep them all on a keyring. I am considering doing that for DLR since I am freaking out...Tower of Terror and Space Mtn on the same day??!! :)

I still have a lot to do - so I make it through by doing a bit at a time. I have a pile of stuff to pack started in my room. Went shopping with dd for a new bathing suit for her.

Anyway - I know it'll be here before I know it! And yours will too!

I guess it's true what they say: Misery really does love company! :-)

I would never wish misery upon my fellow DISers, but it makes it so much nicer to know that there are others suffering alongside me! I just want to put on some ruby shoes, close my eyes, click my heels together and chant, "There's no place like Disney! There's no place like Disney!" And then of course I would be instantly transported there! :-)

For those of you heading down there ahead of me (ebaymommy2two and emtmom0104) - boy am I jealous!!! Soak it all up for us, will you? For those heading down the same time as me (Tricia's mom!) perhaps our paths will cross and we won't even know it. But we'll have that glow about us, for sure! For those heading down after me (vettechick99) I will think of you and send you some pixie dust to get you through!!! Also, vettechick99, I feel your pain on the whole return trip thing. We just bought a beautiful new home, but because of it we might have to skip next year's trip and it's already killing me. Usually every time we go, I already know when we'll be going back. Not this year!!! Sad, sad, sad. How will we ever make it through?!

I know, I know, we could all have much worse problems. And I count my blessings that my worst issue today is being Disney homesick. But it really hurts!!!

Perhaps i shall go in search of some trip reports. Do you think that will make it better or worse? I'll soon find out. Good luck, my winter weary Disney friends. Somehow we'll get there!!!

We just got back yesterday and I have to say I wish we had gone in April. We usually go in August for a full week but decided to take both sets of grandparents down with us this year. My Mom refuses to go in April (she got sun poisoning last time we went in April) It was FREEZING! Granted not as cold as here but we were in our winter coats every night at the parks. Honestly, we had fun but it was not as enjoyable nor as much a break from winter as you'd think.

YES!!! I SO want to escape to WDW!
But no trip booked right now....

I'm also in NJ and yes, this winter has been harsh! I wish we were going to WDW but we've got to wait until fall. Enjoy yourself!

YES we are ready!! April here we come. We will get to Disney the sat before Easter and we are celebrating the 40 days of Lent knowing that it will end when we are at the Disney!! and the kids, DS 12, his BFF 12 and Dear Niece 16 have all given up something for Lent (soda's for son and bff, and chocolate for niece) so they are COUNTING the days. Once there, they are going to indulge : ) and I am going to indulge them!!

We have 6 weeks left to go, and we have had our ups and downs lately. Now that I know everything is good to go I can't wait. I just keep wanting the days to fly by. I love my job, but I can't wait to go to WDW with my family. The funny thing is that the people that I take care of can't wait either. I work with adults with disbilities. They are counting down the days with me because they printed out autograph cards and I am going to get autographs to bring back to them. It's kind of funny because not only do I have my 3 kids counting down the days, but I have the individuals at work counting down the days too.

We leave in just less than 4 weeks and I'm dying!!! I can't wait! Just me and my 6yo dd this time.

We live in NH and it's cold and snowy and blah. I am obsessed and on these boards constantly dreaming of Disney.

We are leaving March 31st!! It snowed like crazy last night, and I am home with a SNOW DAY!

I'm not going back till November, but I hear you all about this crazy @$$ winter! We've had more snow here in Feb than since 1910. And it's getting old!! But Feb is almost over, and even though we generally get a storm or 2 in March, we also get a few nice days poking through, and March always makes me feel like winter is almost over, no matter how bad it might get short-term. That's my rambling way of getting through winter! Early January is far behind, and spring is coming!!!!! I believe!!!

Hello,

We are going to Disney on March 26th and I can not wait. We have had the worst winter and have been pounded with snow. We have gone in June the last three Years and I am so excited to try a new time of the year.

I'm joining you...as we have just over 5 weeks before we leave as well. We woke up this morning to 3 inches of slushy snow and no power for 2 hours! Not a fun way to start a Monday.

As each day passes, I get a little more excited. Not sure how I can get any more excited than I am right now! The boys brand new suitcases are sitting in the livingroom so it's one more step closer to going. Now we just have to hope it warms up a bit! :worship::worship::worship:

I have 6 days left and I am going bonkers.....
my tummy has been in knots for days........ Tooooooooooo Excited!!!!
