I haven't rec'd anything except a few mailings about 2 years back.
Have you trade out into II?
I hope you don't have to put up with them too much longer. Here is some pixie dust![]()
I receive new listings from The Timeshare Store, have purchased through GMAC, and am on the DVC e-mail/mailings list. Other than the DVC mailings, and The Timeshare Store e-mails (which I requested), I have received no other solicitations.
If you purchased via resale, did you contact multiple companies? Could it be through TUG? Or possibly a contract you've added on/sold via a broker? A third party advertised through some of the other unofficial DVC sites (e.g. Dreams Unlimited Travel)? Just thinking out loud on if/how someone could have gotten your information.![]()
Since deeded property is part of public record, some of these brokers could be getting creative, and pulling lists off of the comptroller's websites. I just did a search in Orange County for SSR sales between 1/1/08 - 12/31/08, and found 519 hits just on that property alone!I would think all of these folks would be prime candidates for both add-ons or sales.
That's too bad. I know how annoying solicitation calls are.In my case, all of my purchases have been through Disney and the only resale broker that I contacted was the board sponsor.
We have been receiving them since we bought through Disney. I went to the National Do Not Call Registry and redid it and so far the calls have stopped for the last couple of weeks. Most of the calls were from Marriott in Florida.
Yes, I've gotten a couple and several mailings as well since joining DVC in May. I figured at least they could let me enjoy my first stay before they start bugging me to sell!!!!! Somewhere along the line my DVC purchase information got out along with address and phone number.
oh - and I don't own any other timeshare and never have.
Ask for all the caller's information, name of the indivudual, company they are representing. Tell them you are making note of the date/time of the call and will be reporting them to the FL Agriculture Secretary who is responsible for violations of the do not call list.
