Is anyone currently on a Disney cruise?

This is all surprising to me because we leave on a Carnival Cruise on Saturday and have followed groups of people sailing before us. They’re not only serving ice cream, but drinks and any buffet food too. I’ve done 13 DCL cruises and it’s shocking to hear that Carnival sounds like they’re being more proactive based on what I’m reading.

I don’t understand this. I have to beg for passport stamps these days or my kids’ passports would be empty. The eye rolls I get from border agents as they tell me it’s all electronic and they don’t even know where the stamp is is more common than reliably stamping my passport.

I have several people I know from when I was younger who traveled to china regularly for business and said that its far more common for Asian countries (China, Japan, Korea, etc.) to stamp your passport. I have never traveled outside the US other than to the Caribbean and Mexico so I cannot say this from personal experience.

I found this interesting article on passports through a google search. I have seen them scan mine when getting off and on the ship.

I assume this allows for an easier and quicker way to see where someone has traveled as opposed to going through all the pages.

Currently on the WBPC on the Wonder. We are in Columbia for. "technical stop," but no passengers can disembark. We got 7 hours behind schedule when we.haf to return to Grabd Cayman with a passenger who needed surgery that the ship could not provide.

Temperature scans happened in the port before boarding photos. Quick and easy.

All official pin trading (shop books, crew lanyards, and officer's event) are cancelled.

All other activities continue including the captain's reception.

Crew is definitely more insistent about using wipes/washing hands when entering restaurants and bars.

The biggest problems we've had are rough seas leading to pool closures. There was also a trash fire in GC that lead to cancellation of many excursions.

sounds like they are operating sensibly! Hope you are enjoying the cruise. We are set to sail on Saturday, but I am getting discouraged by all the cancellations I am reading about on these boards. I am getting the sense that being onboard is going to be far more safe than being on land in the coming weeks!

I actually ended up booking my sailing at the last minute and don't regret it at all. Especially with the Dream's stellar reputation for inspections (Heck, the whole fleets), it was the last thought in my mind.

The Cancellations were great for us. It was so nice sailing on a ship that wasn't full. I had never been on the Dream or the Fantasy when they weren't at full capacity before. It kinda reminded me of being on the Magic.

I may have said this already but one of the things that we did was eating in a sit down restaurant for most meals as buffets tend to have the highest issues with cleanliness and germs and what not. I encourage everyone to take this same approach. I have never seen Royal Palace so crowded for non dinner meals.

When do you leave?

We sail April 25 and I'm freaking out.

We sail on the 21st and we are not planning to cancel

I am also currently on the Wonder’s WBPC. As of this morning, there is no self-serve anything. The drink station is roped off and staff provide you your drinks. Staff will put what you want on your plate from the buffet in Cabanas, Handwashing prior to entering into Cabanas and sanitation with wipes into the MDRs is STRICTLY enforced. The Captain advised this morning that these changes will be implemented fleet-wide.

Cleaning protocols are through the roof!

Just got a text that the kids club sleepover is now ending at 2:00 instead of a full overnight. (Also WBPC)

I got off the Dream on Monday and cast away cay was serving you the meats(not sure if that's normal or not).. they do make you sanitize before meals, but there is no alcohol in the wipes, doesn't the CDC recommend like 68% alcohol or something?? Anyway first time on any type of cruise and it was amazing!
