I was reading a blog for a June 18, 11 night cruise and the safety drill was at 4pm.

On our Disney Panama Canal Cruise with the drill we learned the good news is you don't have to go back to your room anymore for your life jackets you just show up. I was kind of bummed because it was always fun to get those awkward photos wearing the life jacket with the reflectors.=D

If the drill is not until 4:00 then we could have the meet at 3:00 then. That would give everyone more time to get settled in

It is so much easier not to have to wear the jackets--but I miss the photos too All ship's services (like the bars) will shut down 15 minutes before the drill and they will start encouraging people to leave common areas.

Our son, Rio, is 12. He attends German schools and is almost fluent in German (speaks it better than all the rest of us). Our daughter also speaks good German and is 14--but your son and my son would be in the same "club" (The Edge) on the ship.

What part of Germany are you from?

Hi Everybody,

I am Marika from over on the Kid's Thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2649402). We just planned our Meet Up and wanted to let everybody over here know when it is in case there are any kids or teens who do not post themselves but have parents that do who want to show up. We are going to meet up directly after the Muster Drill at Goofy's Galley (poolside restaurant that serves mainly ice cream and fruit) on Deck 9, Aft. I hope to see some new people there and cannot wait to meet everybody.

We have 18 cabins with 35 adults and 27 kids participating. I do have a couple of people who have let me know about their upgrades (lucky people!) but if you have not let me know about your cabin number could you pleased do so in the next couple of days and I'll send out the list.

I've gone through the list and here's what info I need from people. All cabins should have been assigned by now so hopefully we will not have to find people who's cabins have been changed. The ship is full so I can not imagine we will see any more cabin changes now. If we do I will post all changes on my cabin door so people can find them.

I read on FAQ that portable irons are restricted aboard,but we will have a tiny steamer/iron thing in case as we need it for our hotel stay?surely ok,if in case only!?

Anyone interested in knowing, I will be doing FE gifts per cabin and not per person as need as much space as possible in suitcases for cruise and our additional 5 day stay!

when will we know if private brunch booked or not and how will we be informed?

Does anyone want to do a wine meet up on Sea Day for about an hr? You bring a bottle of wine from your area and then you get to taste other people's wine on board that they bring. Let me know if you are interested. Depending on how many people would be interested we could get a space on board such as one of the route 66 lounges or we could meet at someone's room.

Thanks for organizing everyone I'm sorry I have left you hanging, I thought we had sent this ages ago as we got our cabin numbers when we were switched to this sailing from 3 September. Anyway, we'll just put up one FE after all (not the two for the kids to each have one by the door) since I realized we havve a connecting door--so they can both enter the same way It will either be hanging on 2109 or 2107.

Steamers are okay. Irons are not. Disney may very well confiscate it. If they do they will give you a slip of paper in your luggage telling you it was confiscated and you take that to a desk in the post upon returning to Barcelona and get it back. There are free irons available to use in the laundry room on the ship. Have you checked to see if the hotel you are staying at on land has irons available?

We might do a wine tasting. It would honestly depend on what else is going on at the time. We will certainly be bringing German wines on board with us. I winder how many people who are flying will have space to pack wine in their suitcase though? With wegiht restricitons and the need to pack it really well to avoid breakages it can be a hassle to bring overseas (it was so much easier when you could carry it on).

Is anyone else doing the Cinque Terre scenic boat tour in La Spezia? The tour ends at 1pm, and we would really like to get on a train to Pisa after the tour. Do you guys think this is doable?

Hi, we are going to attempt to do Cinque Terre on our own. Apparently, there is a ticket that covers all transportation including some ferries. We plan to just do Cinque Terre since we want to take our time in each town.

Thanks for all of the cabin numbers!! I am now just looking for disney withkids and gusdmh. If they haven't posted by Wednesday I'll send out the information to you and then just update with their cabin numbers.

I'll be at the meet on the first day (I really shoud have written down the time as now I have to go back and find it again!) and I will hand out any last minute changes then. I will also post a list on my door if anyone got a little more pixie dust at the port and had a cabin change.

18 cabins is a really good number, not so many that it gets hard to carry the gifts but enough to make it interesting!
