Is anyone cruising with me on the August 27th 2011 Meditteranean Cruise? Hellooooo?

Hi all, been a few years since I've been in on the DIS boards -- seems I've forgotten how to navigate the place.

Anyhow, DW, DD9, DD7, and I will be joining you all on the cruise, and we're finally trying to figure out excursion plans, reading up on other people's experiences.

We were looking into the limoinrome.com shore tour to Rome, and noticed that for the 4 of us, it would be 460 Euros. Would it make sense to try to find another group of 4, which would only be 540 Euros? Anyone here looking to do this already? Probably harder, seeing as we'll be going with kids?

Hello and Welcome!

My husband and I have booked private tours and were looking for people to split with. If you private message me your e-mail address I can send the tour specifics to you.

We used limoinrome last May. We had a group of 6 which was comfortable and split the cost up just fine. We liked being able to fit in seeing a whole lot in one day without wearing the kids (or adults) out walking too much in the heat.

We just paid off the cruise :cool1: It is such a good feeling (and I am soooo loving the exchange rate!).

I am loving the exchange rate these days too.

Last trip without kids was Alaska 2000 and it cost 1.60 CAD to buy 1 US$, today it costs about .97 cents CAD to buy 1US .

I am thinking I will buy some Euros , not as good as the exchange last year, but it is improving.

Happy Birthday RoniBoBoni!!

Did anyone else see the annoucements today from Disney with the new itineraries? Who is ready to book????

I really want to do the Hawaii one, but we already have a cruised book for April 2012. Life's rough when you got to figure out which vacation to take and which to cancel =D

I was really hoping for another med cruise. I know we will get the disney bug after our first one in August, but that has put paid to future ones for a while I think

I'm quite disappointed in the new cruises, I was really hoping for a bermuda stop on the New York ones. None of the others appeal and I was up for booking a baltics cruise. On the plus side though I have instead just booked a WDW Old Key West Resort holiday for May 2012 and got free dining.:cool1:
Royal Caribbean are doing a five night repositioning cruise in the Baltics in Aug 2012 which looks good value so depending on which (if any) olympic tickets I get I may be defecting to them next year.

Jealous of everyone paying in full so far, we are going away for the next 2 weeks so I'm leaving paying until the last minute. Not long now, so excited.:woohoo:

Looks like we are the LAST sailing for the Magic in the Med for at least a year! I wonder if we will get any special attention on this cruise? :goodvibes

Yes I did! My TA can't book us until tomorrow because we are Silver status  I am hoping to get a secret porthole room for one of the 5 Night Canada sailings. Wish me some pixie dust!!:wizard:

We are going to buy our Euros and USD and I am trying to work out how much to get. For tips and purchases on the cruise am I right that we need USD? Can I put anything I buy on the ship on my credit card?

Thanks
Anna

Hi, you don't need to get any USD for the med cruises if you don't want to. Everything you buy on the ship is charged to your room card and later taken off the credit card that you pre register. You can charge all the gratuities to the card also. I think that there may only be room service where cash tips might be necessary. Obviously for all the ports you will need euros.

We live in the state of Maryland which is about 4 hours away from NYC. The Magic is sailing out of the Manhattan port. We can catch an Amtrak train from Baltimore, Maryland to Penn Station (Manhattan, NY) for $45/pp one way!!!! So we are planning to stay in Manhattan for 2 days prior to the cruise. We are booked for the September 7, 2012 sailing!!!

That is great, I booked the 5 day to Canada for Aug . I have always wanted to take the girls to New York, and Halifax so it is a perfect trip for us. I do hope DCL goes back to Europe in 2013 though.

I just finished reading Angels and Demons and even more excited to go to Rome.
