I'm asking this in fun, but honestly...planning a vacation with family members with all diff. expectations and budgets is difficult! My IL's won't stay in anything but a luxury resort... they'd prefer a place with fantastic room service and a spa... It made me wonder if anyone here is dead set on staying at one particular resort that they love and you are totally against even trying out another resort. What kind of requirements do you "have to have"?????

I "have to" stay on Disney property. That's it.

I'm easy to please.

I kind of-sort of am. I refuse to stay in a Value. Even if that means no trip to Disney. But, I honestly do not think I am as WDW obsessed as many here. ;)

I have done moderates and will be staying at a Deluxe in December. I have a feeling that when I get back, I will be sold on Deluxes for good.

My reasons for refusing a Value is noise, paper-thin walls and the bus stops. I like the Deluxe for the bigger bed and transportation options. (Boat & Monorail)

I'm a deluxe snob & proud of it......Becoming a DVC member has only added fuel to the fire.

I have tried values and mods (at CM rates), but they just felt too ordinary and the values are, in my opinion, too loud & too crowded.

We love the bigger rooms & the convenient locations (the 1 bedroom villas at the BW or BC can't be beat....gotta love the extra balcony & the whirlpool tub). We don't ride the busses unless we absolutely have to, so for us, the Epcot resorts and the Poly are perfect locations.

We're on vacation, so comfort & convenience are worth any extra expense. :thumbsup2

We have done values and deluxes. I will say that being on the monorail is awesome. However, we loved that values and had no problem with noise. Last year we did the Poly and this year is Pop for us. My family can have fun at any Disney resort!!!!

POP May 07
POLY 06
CR 05
ASMO 01
Disneyland 92
Offsite 86
CR 79

I have stayed at Deluxe and Value, and will be adding Mod this year. It just depends on how much $$ I am willing to spend. If I got a great deal on a Deluxe..I'd book it. I don't like the idea of putting close to $400 into a room though. My kids first experience at WDW were at GF and POLY, and were just as happy at POP! Love those kids:)

I guess I am.

I did have reservations at PO-R, and switched them to the Poly for our upcoming trip.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay at a moderate again, but I would rather postpone a trip to WDW period, than stay at a value.

Not because I think I'm too good for them, but rather that they do nothing for me, and I spend far too much at the resorts relaxing.

Its hard not to be. Once you stay on property its hard to stay anywhere else. We did Seralago for one night last year, YUK.

Also, once you stay at one of the deluxes, its hard to downgrade.

:)

I have to stay at the WL  ..and now I prefer to stay Concierge. It's not like we have not tried other WDW resorts, but when we have stayed elsewhere..we wished we were at the WL, so that is where we spend our money :)

I have to say no when it comes to Disney.I am a DVC member but I will stay at a Vlaue,Mod or Deluxe.Just as long as I can go thats all that matters to me.So we are going in Sept and I am staying Value and doing free dining and then in Dec I am going to stay at AKL.
So I am happy anywhere as long as I am at Disney.

I'm not a resort snob, but I do have preferences. I base my preferences on which park I will be spending the most time in, and how long the trip is. For shorter trips, the values and mods are fine. For longer trips, where I'll be spending as much time at the resort as the parks, I prefer deluxe or DVC. I've never had a big problem with noise, but I travel with a white noise machine, so I don't hear much of anything else.

I have to say yes I am We love staying at the Boardwalk Villas and hate staying anywhere else. but will if I have to

I am a deluxe snob even though we will be staying at POP for one night this summer. It's just to sleep as our flight arrives after 8pm the day before value season starts for the deluxes. The next day we are switching to the Polynesian, although I am hoping a great AP rate comes out for the Grand Floridian. Then we'll be staying there.

I am a deluxe resort snob. Sorry. princess:

I will also go so far as to say monorail and Epcot area only.

The busses at AKL did nothing for me. :snooty: :goodvibes

If I had to choose deluxe or no Disney...

I guess I would have to make sure I was just never in the room. :)

I guess you could say I am a WDW resort snob. I must stay on property. If any other hotel is not up to WDW standards, I am highly disappointed. The property must be clean and well kept, the room clean, the staff friendly.

With that said, our 2 favorite resorts on property are ASSports and AKL.

When I go with the family we're a deluxe resort snob.
But this year I went with some friends and stayed value.
It was okay for 1 or 2 people.

I like the concierge lounge, indoor rooms and the atmosphere of the deluxes. Plus looking at the castle when I go to bed.

Yes, the hotel has to be on-property and within my budget. :)

We (DD and I) love the Values. We've also stayed at AKL and would do it again with a good deal - and I'd try WL and maybe Poly with a good deal, too. The Mods do very little for me. ASMovies and AKL are probably our two faves, though Pop is in the mix as well. I'd rather stay Value than not go

I have to admit we're POLY concierge snobs. It's not something that we can afford to do very often but given the choice of a WDW trip/staying somewhere other than the POLY ~or~ waiting to be able to go and stay at the POLY we always vote for waiting. I figured most kids wouldn't care but even our boys (18, 14 and 12) don't want to go unless we can stay at the POLY.
