I bought tropical wear for our family several months ago. I guess I didn't realize at the time that tropical night had been replaced with Pirate night. Is anyone still wearing the tropical wear for pirate night, or is it all just Pirate attire. I thought that we could possibly still wear our tropical gear to Parrot Cay, if it doesn't interfere with the other dress up nights (oh, this wardrobe planning is killing me! ;) . Thanks for the info!

I just bought pirate gear for 3 of 4 in my family. I'm going to use a cool Jafar Costume I bought on Ebay as a basis for a pirate costume - it was worth $95 but I won the auction for under $25. Add shipping - and the other pirate gear and I'm in it for under $40 for me.

Our sailing iis in about a week (Sept 3rd Magic onan Eastern) - so just before if time permits or right after the cruise I'll post a photo link. :goodvibes

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Everyone is pretty much wearing tropical attire on Pirate night. The only people who dress up are the ones on the DIS boards. The waitstaff will give you a red bandana to wear on your head. If you feel like you want to be more piratey, then just buy eyepatches for everyone. :)

I don't know if I'd call it "tropical," but I'm wearing a guazy kinda multi-colored dress in blues and greens and DH will be in a Hawaiian print shirt. Not piratey... but festive. :)

On our July 9th West Coast Cruise, most people were wearing tropical attire. I think the Pirate thing is a new concept that isn't widely advertised except on these boards! You'll be fine no matter what you wear! Have fun!!!

Dh bought a Pittsburgh Pirates T-shirt and wore it on Pirate night. Captain Hook also thought it was neat.

Here's what we wore last Thanksgiving Western..............

I plan to wear tropical. I think most do wear tropical instead of pirate.

Thanks so much! You guys are the best! DH will be so happy that I don't need to purchase another set of outfits for the 5 of us!

But it is called Pirates In The Caribbean Night for a reason and putting together your costume is part of the fun. My wife and I went to our local Goodwill store and were able to pick up some good costume clothing for our pirate outfits. Both for less than $15.00 each.

I figure wearing tropical attire would make me feel more at a Jimmy Buffett concert with fellow Parrotheads!!!

You could always be a tropical pirate!! Add a bandanna and a patch to your tropical costume..good to go!!

Have a great trip!
