Is an upgrade to an aft-facing cabin on the Dream worth it?

Just noticed that several aft-facing cabins are still available for our June cruise on the Disney Dream. We have never sailed in an aft-facing cabin but I know that some people love these cabins. The price to upgrade to this cabin is less than upgrading to other verandah cabins for our sailing. These cabins are on Deck 10 right under Cabanas. Is an upgrade to this cabin worth it? What are the pros and cons? Or should we just stay in our oceanview cabin?

I'll go on record as saying that I LOVE a rear facing cabin, and have one booked for our Fantasy cruise in Feb. But I'm also willing to say that I'm a bit of an introvert and need to get away from people sometimes, so a large, private, deck is important to me. The fact that the cabin is right under the end of Cabanas 'could' be a bad thing if you are bothered by noise from chairs being dragged around early in the morning. I tend to book a cabin that is between two cabin decks, to stay a little further away from the noise. If the money is right, and you are not bothered by the noise, or movement of the ship, which is magnified in a rear cabin, I suggest that you go for it, and see how it works out. Worst thing that can happen is you're on a Disney Cruise....

We had an aft facing cabin on the Dream this past June with a veranda. It was a great room, no complaints at all. Ours was on the 8th floor. I enjoyed watching the wake at night in the moonlight.

We were in 5688 on the Fantasy. Teeny tiny veranda and the noise and vibration were horrible. I would probably feel the same way being under Cabanas. I know aft facing cabins are usually coveted but I don't think I'd ever do it again.

We had 10158 on the Dream and it was great. All those rooms have huge verandas. Som people complain about noise from cabanas and hearing chairs scraping and the vibrations from the thrusters. I noticed the vibration when they were parking the ship but I’m an early riser and was always already up. I never noticed the sounds from cabanas people complain about.

We had an aft cabin on the Fantasy on deck 10. I will say we loved the large verandah but the noise from Cabanas was terrible!!
We are early risers so I didn't think it would bother us but it started everyday at about 5 am and that was just too early!! I would book
another aft cabin but it wont be on deck 10. The vibration didn't bother us at all

Love aft facing, but would not do deck 10 because of Cabanas. Are there any available on a lower deck?

Unfortunately there are no aft-facing cabins on lower decks. I'd love to snag one of these cool cabins but being right below Cabana's is a deal breaker.

To be fair, that room is NOT classified as a 5e cabin with the large extended balcony area. The ones on the other decks are much much bigger. I've sailed in 2 aft 5e rooms on the Dream on deck 8. Both were very lovely, though some minor soot some mornings.

We just sailed in 9674 on the Fantasy and it was absolutely wonderful. The extended veranda spoiled us for sure.

Oh I understand that. My point really was that because of the noise and vibration (and smell from the bathroom!) there's no way I'd take one of those cabins no matter how BIG the balcony was!

I had 10658 on Fantasy. I would book that room again on every single cruise if I could. Any of the "complaints" people note about being on the back are first, not that big a deal, and second mitigated by the balcony space. We watched the fireworks from our deck, our view of Castaway was second to none, and having lounge chairs to relax on while underway let us avoid the top deck fiasco fighting for chairs while at sea.

We're book into 9672, right next door, on our cruise this coming February. Can't wait!

We're booked on 10162 on the Dream, so I'm wondering what it will be like for us. :confused3
