We are on the dining plan and some sources show it includes an appetizer and some say it no longer does.

with the deluxe plan and platinum plan. not quick service or std dining.

If you're referring to the regular dining plan or quick service dining plan, then no there is no appetizer. They discontinued appetizer on the regular dining plan several years back. If you have free dining, usually the resort you are staying at determines if you have the regular dining plan or quick service dining plan. You can upgrade your free dining to the deluxe dining, but it is very expensive to do so IMO.

we are staying at a mod. and have the regular dining plan. I guess no apps. for us! Thanks for the info.!

If by FDP you mean Fantasmic Dinner Package, and you are on the regular dining plan, I'm pretty sure an appetizer IS included, isn't it? Isn't it a fixed price for appetizer/entree/dessert? :confused3

For the Fantasmic Dining Package you will get an appetizer, main dish, dessert and non-alcoholic fountain beverage at Mama Melrose and Hollywood Brown Derby. If you are using the dining plan it is 1 credit per person at MM and 2 credits each at HBD.

For those on the regular dining plan (1 TS, 1CS, 1 snack per night) it is an opportunity to have an appetizer included in the meal.

There are only a few a la carte TS restaurants that offer a prix fixe menu that includes an appetizer course. Otherwise, TS restaurants on the regular dining plan (DDP) do not include an appetizer.

Yes, I am referring to the Fantasmic Dining show

In that case, yes, there is an appetizer included in the meal. Whether you are on the DDP or paying OOP, the F. package is a fixed price meal. At Mama Melrose and HBD the meal includes appetizer, entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage that you select from the regular menu. Since H&V is a buffet, this doesn't apply, of course.

Some people apparently thought FDP meant Free Dining Plan.

But according to the OP, they were inquiring about the Fantasmic Dining Package.

If you book the Fantasmic Package at Mama Melrose or Brown Derby, yes, it includes an appetizer, even on the regular dining plan (free or not). Hollywood & Vine is a buffet.

IN GENERAL (there are exceptions and the Fantasmic Package is one of them), the regular dining plan does not include appetizers.

Sorry for the confusion - nowhere did I see where it said Fantasmic. The other posters are correct about the app as it relates to Fantasmic. It makes no difference if you are on the dining plan in order to get an appetizer with the Fantasmic package.

Great, thanks for clearing it up. Sorry about the confusion on FDP, I am trying to get the abbreviations down, I guess I should have put FDP! or just spelled it out to be clear!
