We are planning a trip Dec 9-16...have been once before and stayed at WL...loved it, but we were never there and can't see paying that much money to only sleep and shower. We are considering the "All Stars" because of the Price. DH is interested in Movies-Toy Story...will we regret staying here? Any do's/don'ts for Dec.? Thanks

Our first trip was in early December and we stayed in ASMo Toy Story section. We had a great experience at the All Star resorts and would stay there again. We actually spent one night last trip at AS Sports at the end of our trip. I like the theming of movies the best.

We've stayed at the Music & Movies and loved them both. The Music was our favorite for some reason, maybe the brighter colors of the Calypso building or some other intangible.

The food court's have plenty of choices, the pools are fun with squirty characters in them, bus service is excellent, the rooms are clean and the maids do cute stuff with stuffed animals etc...I think you will have a truly enjoyable experience there.

I really think the differnce in price for a moderate level resort is worth it. I just think they are much nicer than the all stars and not that much more in cost. Especially if you get a code from mouse savers or a FL resident or AP rate..

We have stayed in the Deluxe & Moderates Resorts - our favorite is the Caribbean. This past February, we stayed at All Star Music -in the Broadway Section. The outside of the buildings are decorated with top hats & canes. This was our first time staying at a Value Resort & we would stay there again. We were very pleased with everything - food court had a variety of foods to choose from, no problems with the bus system, rooms were always clean. There were 8 of us in two adjoining rooms - had no problem with the size of the room, even had strollers & a port-a-crib. Like you said, you usually only sleep & shower in the room - spend the extra money that you would save doing something 'special'!!!!

We have stayed in All-Star Music, the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Grand Floridian. AKL was definately the favorite, followed by GF, but there was nothing "wrong" with the All-Star Music. It's basically just like staying at a Days Inn, or another hotel off property, you just get all the benefits of staying on site.

I've stayed in all three All Stars. I would pick All Star Sports because the busses stop there first.

I don't care to stay at the moderates because the busses seem to take forever just to circle the resort.

I have also stayed at all three all stars. I think they are fine. I have stayed at CSR, DL (now POR) and the Poly. My favorite all stars is music with movies a close second. I like music because I think it is a little more like a moderate with a fountain in the courtyard and I loved how Broadway was themed looking like a city street complete with cab car outside! Not sure which building we stayed in but it was a bit of a walk to the food court/buses. I also like how the big icons lights changed colors - that was pretty cool! Movies is a close second because of the big movie icons - it doesn't get more disney than that!! We stayed in the Mighty Duck section which was actually closer to the front of the music - so we always got the bus at music. The only problem we had at the all stars was when we stayed at sports in 10/98. We were leaving Blizzard Beach and had to wait over 1 hour for a bus back to the all stars. We complained when we finally got back to sports and were more than compensated with a free character breakfast of our choice (chose Cinderella's) and a private van to take us back from illuminations!!

The rooms are fine - there is not much of a difference in the size of the rooms compared to a moderate. I have a family of four and we were quite comfortable.

I have enjoyed all of my stays at the all stars and will definately be staying there again!

We had our first All Star stay last year and loved it! We are going back again this year. After staying at ASMO, we will find it very difficult to go back to a moderate. I definitely prefer ASMO over DXL.
