I love bread, but do not like sourdough. Is there any of that good Mickey Bread that I see (the one shaped like Mickey) that isn't sourdough?

I will echo what longtimedisneylurker and figment_jii said. I've only seen sourdough, courtesy of Boudin.

The bread is also made in fun seasonal shapes for Halloween Time (pumpkin-shaped bread) and especially the holiday season (candy cane, snowman and tree shapes).

I agree Sherry, the holiday shapes are too fun. Last year the cute CM gave me a FREE snowman. He said I was just so excited about the candy cane, he couldn't help it. You'd thought I won the lottery. :rotfl2:

Yes, OP it's sourdough but a mild sourdough to me.

My wife used to hate sourdough, but then one day (at 30 years old), she just started loving it. I don't know if it was one of the pregnancies that changed the taste buds or what. I hope the same miracle happens to you some day. :thumbsup2 (the love of sourdough, not the pregnancy--unless you want another one. I'd better just shut up now)

Pacific Wharf Cafe in DCA. They also have a bread stand just outside the restaurant if you don't want to have to wait in the long line inside and only want bread. The bread stand doesn't open right when the park opens though, usually more toward lunch time I think. Also, I think I've seen the bread sometimes at the fruit stand on Buena Vista Street. I think it shows up there in the afternoon/evening to entice people to buy some on their way out of the parks.

Wow awesome! Didn't know they had bread like SF. Do they by any chance have clam chowder to go with it?

Pacific Wharf Cafe sells clam chowder in bread bowls. If you don't like your bread soggy, you can ask for the chowder in a cup on the side. Clam chowder is also sold at DL I think at Royal Street Veranda.

If you take the Boudin Factory tour at the right time, you can watch them making the Mickey loaves. They basically have a huge cookie cutter press that stamps out the pieces from a slab of sourdough dough. Then they assemble the pieces into the Mickey face. After we saw that, we had to go buy a finished loaf. Not a bad deal for that amount of bread, really. Or maybe my pricing gauge has been distorted by the park environment :lmao:

We like the tour for the free bread samples. If they still do that you can grab a couple to see if you like the taste. I think Boudin (pronounced Bow-Dean) is the best sourdough and I always grab a loaf when we make it to the SF factory. :)
