We have BLT booked for september and were waiting to book AKV but with the food and wine happening earlier savannah view is gone :(

I could still get standard view but wondering if it's worth it to stay there without savannah view???

definitely!! there are places in the halls to view the animals and so many places to go see them.

thank you for your reply…I want to book a one bedroom but can only get standard, debated a studio with savnah view but read that some people don't see any animals at all because they are in parks all day so I am torn over risking std view vs. regretting not having more room with 3 kids?!?!?

I've had DVC studio with Savannah view and we saw lots of animals.

I've also stayed with a parking lot view and still enjoyed the resort tremendously. There are tons of places to see the animals.

thanks…I am debating a savannah room at AKL for free dining but not sure if I will regret not having the space…this is our first time doing a week onsite, we did the poly last year for two nights and loved how big the room was at Tokeleu…which is why I was considering the 1 bedroom ?!? we have three kids do you think a studio will be too cramped?!

For us space is a big issue. If your kids will sleep three on the pull out couch in a studio then the room should work for you. The Poly rooms are much larger and the day bed makes a big difference for sleeping areas.

We did not mind not having a savanah view when we stayed at AKL. My parents had a savanah view and they liked it as they were in the room a lot. There are quite a few public areas to view the animals, so for us I would go for the space instead of the view.

We've had savannah views as well as views of the parking lot, and in my opinion it was worth it even when our view was of parked cars. ;) There are a lot of public areas to view the animals and the overall ambiance of the resort is unlike any other. With 5 people I do think a studio would be too cramped (they're 315-366 sq. ft. compared to the Poly's 415) so I'd look into the 1-bedroom.

We have stayed at Akl savannah view two times and standard view two times. Our first time savannah view was awesome. We saw so many animals. This last time we were lucky to see a total of 5 animals during the whole week. After this last visit where we did not see many animals I am not sure I would pay again to see the deserted savannah as we enjoyed our standard view just as much.

That's what I am worried about too. Paying the difference or changing dates and not seeing animals anyway?
I was looking into renting points but when I worked out the free dining option it doesn't seem to be as much difference as I thought.

For those who have stayed one bedroom did u rent or go thru Disney?
