Is a toll pass worth it when renting a car??

We don't have toll roads in the same sense here where I live (Canada). Is it worthwhile to get a toll pass device when renting cars? We will be doing a lot of driving, from Tampa airport to orlando, to busch and back to orlando, puttering around orlando, and back to Tampa airport.

No, it's not. There are no tolls between Tampa Airport and Disney.

I think it is worth it just for the puttering around Orlando part. When we rented in Orlando the car was automitally "equioed" with the transponder. We were told If we went through any tolls it would be activatedand we would have to pay the daily fee plus the tolls and if we did not use it it would not be charged to us. From MCO to our friends' house in Lakeland, then to WDW, then to port canaveral and a couple of shopping areas in Oralndo before MCO again we went through about 20 toll booths in total. 3 or 4 of those had looong lines for the cash pay. it was well worth it to us to by pass the cash pay line and not have to dig out quarters all the time.

It's easier, and may not cost that much extra, to use the rental company program.

Sunpass doesn't work with some model cars and most of the time you won't know what model car you'll renting in advance. You'll have to remove the mini before you return your car. You'll The sunpass mini costs $5. It'll cost another $10 for pre-paid tolls when you activate it. Unless you go to the trouble to request a refund of pre-paid tolls you'll pay more money then you would with the rental car program.

A regular Sun pass makes some sense if you plan to make multiple trips to FL.
